–Comment: Another English learning course (British and American English), this time a seven-level primary course aimed at 6-12 yo. 

The pic is from level 4 (Workbook unit 3, official sample). There is also a large, high res photo of the left 2 boys in the student's book. I'm not sure if this is taken from a video, I first assumed that due to the frame. 3 boys in dark blue space coveralls.

I think there is are no separate DVDs available but digital codes contained in the books (both student and teacher) having videos (possibly including animated vids). I found no sample vids, just a Spanish presentation vid. (A pic of that on my other blog). The blonde boy is maybe Simon who also appeared in other levels.

Mickey's Helping Hand (Mickey McGuire)

I had one pic of this 1931 movie (18 minutes) in the 1st update and the other in the main post (both 2017). As I hadn't re-uploaded all pics after the migration (especially from updates, I previously had 2 of my favourite pics for this series), I do it now. Nice faded pair, good rear view. Probably it's the same boy (looking older on pic 2). Maybe it's even the same boy as in the main entry rating 7 (dark hair with strand, different stone washed pair). Around rating 5.

In the 2011 posts, there are more and more pics getting larger and few worth to be replaced. No notable ones in June 2011. Some more of July and August coming soon. Again mainly females. Heidi Swedberg, *1966 in this 1994 episode. Mainly fishing in an open vest and red shirt, but also some few scene without vest and white shirt. Maybe also a bit wet.

Update: Johnny Got His Gun (1971)

As announced, I've re-uploaded larger pics of May 2011. But most of them are females (post coming soon). I have rechecked this movie (at high speed), made new caps and I think it's woth making a separate post. There are at least 2 scenes of bibs.

Pic 2 is new, where his mom inspecting his dirty bare feet and touching his back/butt. Bibs are quite simple but not hickory striped as assumed. Also kneeing down. He's also in a zinc bathtub with the bibs next to it. Scenes at ~33 and 39 minutes. 

There's also a novel by Dalton Trumbo, but I haven't found descriptions of bibs there.

Touched by an Angel - s3e3

 

Another, older teen girl in blue bibs. Also pigtailed but blonde. And this time also standing/walking full view at the school corridor. Not sure about her name. Is this Aimee Graham *1971? But I think the girl is younger, so obviously uncredited on IMDb.

I think few scenes as usual, but very good ones. So rating (5)-6.

Book 127: Walter Baran: Feet First: A Memoir

I like Google Books. You can search for everything and often even have a very large preview. And even with a snippet view you can search a book for words. Often, at least one edition has a preview. But there's also a con, as you find too much when searching for "overalls" and that also has a different meaning. So I had searched for other keywords like coveralls, one-room schoolhouse, farm overalls, etc. Now the time search also works, but you find very few recent publications (5 pages, <50 books in the last 2 years and most of them are poor).

Recently, I've searched for "tobacco juice" after having found it in "Christy". I almost have finished that. There are mean boys spitting out tobacco juice. So I found this and other books.

This 2003 book has 2 kids, maybe girls in bibs on the cover and 5 mentionings of overalls. Many, very short chapters, covering different time settings, 1900s but I think mainly the 1930s. Obviously most don't like wearing overalls. A boy was instructed by his mom to unbuckle the straps and put down the bib for the school photograph. A girl had to wear her brother's overalls and hoped not to be seen by others she know.  And at the first work, one had to wear the worst overalls and shirt he hates.

I haven't read all of it. Probably also lots of other interesting stories. Farm memoirs are the best. Also photos, but I haven't found one showing bibs. Most modern books are also available as ebook. And cheaper. You don't have to wait and no shipping costs and custom fees. I still have much to read, especially digital books.

–Comment: At least a lady, I think in long bibs (pic 4) and several girls in bibs and shortalls. One very short haired kid could be a boy (pic 2, 2nd from left, although belt and earring). Pics 2-4 from ep 64 DJ (available on the kika / ARD mediathek, German title: Die Regeln von Floor, or in zapp or other broadcaster's sites). There are obviously more episodes with bibs, but I haven't checked all episodes. Pic 3 showing a girl in light brown bibs.

I just found a girl in a jeans dress in ep 51 and boys and girls in blue short plastic pants (game)  in ep 51.

Episodes are short ~9-12 minutes. International Emmy Kids Award. There's also a musical. And other scenes of interest (swimwear, shiny Soccer shorts, latter ones girls only?)

For now rating ~4-5. Pic 1 from ep 81 Pool (Zwembad, season 5). Main character is the 11 yo girl Floor (on left). Other girls (appear) a bit older.

And another huge update with larger pics and fixed tags/info (some pics are downscaled here). Anna, Schmidt & Oskar (last pic from ep. Schule) has just been aired. Great series, currently rating 6 but rather few scenes of girls in shortalls. So the rating of the shortalls would rather be 4-5. More of interest the main character Anna (18 yo) and her younger brother Andreas (both in regular jeans only) and handsome Frank. I think the series is surprisingly not available on the ardmediathek (channel ARD alpha) except the live stream. Post from Apr/2011: (not all but most notable posts)
