Update: Completely checked at high speed. Very few scenes and Amanda Peet only or often with a jacket (at 38 minutes). The girl obviously wore a jeans dress or similar at 4 minutes.

I wanted to pause today and it's time for a woman's entry, but I just found this rare movie.

I searched for "A Christmas Carol" (Kody Brown of the Sugar Creek Gang currently playing this on stage, and Little Dorrit had been aired yesterday). I found the character Tiny Tim (not Kody), Dennis Holmes played that in 1957 and so I found this one.

I can't say much more. Looks very interesting and a handsome boy. Novel by Fred Gipson ("Old Yeller", for that also see my western blog).

Dennis Holmes also starred in some other famous western movies and series like Laramie, "The Virginian"/"The Man From Shiloh" and Wagon Train.

There are some expensive DVD offers (probably unofficially DVDr).

Rating 4-5 for now.

The Waltons - s2e11

During research for another story entry, also involving other favourite movies (coming soon), I found this one-room schoolhouse scene by coincidence in s2e11 "The Substitute".

I mentioned it before in the season 2 entry (rating 9) but haven't had pics of that. Now I've seen (too late) that the boy in pic1 is maybe the Charly in my piggyback story entry (linked in season 2). But there are also others in bibs as well. But the other boys are much younger here. Of course also The Waltons in bibs (for more infos see the main entry and the character list entries of Mary-Ellen, Jim-Bob and Jason).

I don't remember if this is a real single one-room schoolhouse (like the one in LHOTP), probably there are other rooms as well, so I think a larger building. But different grades are here together. Set in 1936. There's also a different view of the classroom showing the kids sitting but headshots only.

As announced, a season 9 entry also coming soon and another related entry. I could have made a Waltons week, but I post something different in between (along a boy entry rating 7-8).

I found a new actual pic of Kody Brown of the Sugar Creek Gang. He is currently playing "A Christmas Carol" at a different theater in Atlanta.

Before I post several Waltons and similar movie entries (f/m) including another story entry, a separate episode entry and a season 9 entry, I post this one, I found many weeks ago. I thought I already had this. Maybe an entry or suggestion from the dungareemovies blog.

Looks like a typical modern kids adventure movie. English title "The Lost Treasure of the Knights Templar III: The Mystery of the Snake Crown".

I can't say much more and assume few scenes in those shortalls as she also wears other clothes including a blue short dress or shirt and haven't found many pics of her in shortalls..

During research for the final still missing season of The Waltons (season 9 , entry coming soon), I found this almost 7 minute long sketch on YouTube by coincidence. It's called The Walnuts (s8e14, 1975). A complete episode was 60 minutes.

Actors are quite old but quite funny and interesting action of lifting up the overalls.

Maybe there are other episodes showing bibs as well?

8 Golden Globes. I never heard about that show. Manye guest stars in this and other episodes.

There are some shows on different DVD sets (maybe including this one). At least some are in very bad DVDr image quality.

Rating 2-3 due to the short scenes and their age.

Aka Alien 2, Alien II.

How could I missed this one? 2 Oscars. Some or all movies had been aired some few weeks ago around Halloween but I haven't seen them then but long time ago. I mainly remember the key scenes of part 1 (1979) what is maybe the best and scariest Sci-Fi movie ever and more a horror movie.

Designer H. R. Giger died some months ago (R.I.P.). I think I don't have to tell much more about this famous movies. I have to check all movies again including the Predator and Prometheus movies. But I doubt that there are many good scenes of kids or others in overalls.

Info 308: Update: Growing Pains

Some time ago I rechecked some parts of the season 2 DVD and also found a very brief scene of this boy in hickory striped bibs in I think s2e18. Also an old man in blue bibs. And a teen girl in rare green pants with suspenders.

I don't know why I missed that. Either I bought it earlier before blogging or because it's a very brief scene.

Season 3 is also now available (officially as MOD DVDr on demand). I still have to check the other seasons. But my favourite episode was already in season 2.

Maybe my most favourite comedy series next to Home Improvement (handsome Jeremy Miller and even Leonardo DiCaprio).

Thanks Morten for suggesting this movie. English title "Cold Prey 3 - The Beginning". Rated 15+ in Norway, FSK 18 in Germany. More a thriller than a horror movie.

She wears bibs most of the time (about half of the movie) but often with a jacket and most scenes are dark lit and in the background. Also some few wet scenes. I somehow missed the bloody scenes (blood on overalls, how could that happen, that I missed it?) and have to recheck the end. Also few (good) rear views. Sitting on the floor in the sun but bad view and nothing much to see.

What else should I say? I like horror movies, but I prefer farm movies (and males). There are definitely better movies, also showing women. At least some quite good wet scenes (in water and running, but fast acti0n and in the background).

Rating 3-4. Dubbed version on YouTube (Presos no gelo 3).

I found almost all actors, except one or two, but first an update of Kody Brown (pictured).

Pic showing him in 2008 (16 or 17 yo) as a "Vocal major" in the GHP (Governor's Honors Program) what is a holiday project at the Valdosta State University. Pic courtesy of the official GHP project / Valdosta.edu. I didn't know that he was also doing choral music. In the same year he also was a "Theatre Minor" (Shakespeare plays), but no pics of that. There are some more pics and even vids showing him in a black suit but you can hardly identify him.

His previous Facebook site (Oklahoma) is now deleted (I found some pics of that). I found a new FB page but I'm not sure if it's really him. On each pic he looks different but it's possible. Some facts are the same, others very similar.

Most of the other Sugar Creek Gang actors have unique names and can easily be found on FB. So no need for uploading more pics. Though mostly private pages.

Jacob Velcoff (photographer, musician and/or DJ), Jay St. Onge (more into sports and swimming) and the Garmon brothers.

I didn't know that that Garmon's are half-Mexicans and that there are 4 brothers. Joshua has a blog containing religious posts, texts only.

Emily Jordan is probably the only one except Lexi Johnson who continued her acting career (feature films) and has an IMDb entry.

I haven't found Samuel Hodge yet and have to recheck Drew Dyer.

Update: I also have found these 2. A bit shocked. Why do all guys have to grow beards after their teen age?

I don't know the complete movie as I only have seen some short clips. Available on DVD (not sure if it's officially and can't say about the image quality) and stream.

She also starred in many other westerns. But I haven't seen any others of them and also can't say much more about this one.

Story 82: One-room schoolhouse

Inspired by my latest book entry (book 39) and especially my linked post "no underwear and schoolhouse smell" I searched for pics and more texts. I found some quite good ones on the web but for copyright reasons, I just give links. I also found some new ones on loc gov, although I search all of the FSA-OWI pics before. Few schoolhouses and I searched all for school+children. I don't have the time to check all for just the keyword school. I also found some few pics in color and an interesting PD- book.

There are also many movies and series showing schoolhouses, but I don't remember every one (try a blog search school). I mainly remember LHOTP, The Waltons, Christy, The Cowboys (1972), Tom Sawyer  etc.

Mainly of interest is the time between (1900) 1910-1940s or up to the 1950s like in The Sugar Creek Gang. Earlier schools like Pioneer schools often don't have kids in bibs.

The Smell. I previously found books describing the smell of new overalls and starched dresses. But this might only true for some of them and maybe only once a year and not during the war. I found more the following smells: body odor (as kids or boys only used to bath once a week) and as most of them had to do chores before school, they smell of manure and rest of plants. The schools smell of turpentine and chalk and in the winter they dried their coats on the oven.

Virginian Types: Blue Ridge Mountaineers

This is a short film (2 minutes) and previously considered lost. It's available on the DVD "Lost and Found: American Treasures From the New Zealand Film Archive" along some other movies including a rare feature film from Hitchcock.

I found this during research for my western blog. And I only have seen some pics and not the complete movie. Produced by Pathé Exchange.

I can't say much more about it. But looks very interesting.

It was (then ?) colorized and hand tinted using stencils. Not sure if this movie is or was copyrighted. The remastered DVD with the new musical score probably is. Maybe the copyright was renewed or bought. The lost or orphan movies were found and I think donated by a collector to the non-profit film preservation project which is part of loc.gov.

The pic is taken from dvdtalk. com. I use Fair Use licence anyway.

Rating 5 for now.

Book 39: Ouida Sebestyen: Far From Home

The best book yet! Many and very good and detailed overalls scenes. It's about a (white ?) 13 yo farm boy called Salty set in 1929 Texas. He has to take care for his great-grandmother since his mom died and moved to a boarding house with the couple Tom, Babe and their son.

Previously I only had "On Fire" from that author on my list (already ordered). That is about a 12 yo boy in 1911. Much more famous is her debut novel "Words By Heart" showing  a black teen girl on the cover (not in bibs but 2 men). Most books are OOP and very rare and expensive outside the US. And without having any details except for some summeries and critics, it was risky.

Even in the first sentence there is an interesting overalls scene. And each day it's getting better and better. One one edition there's a white boy shown in light blue bibs sitting on the stairs of a porch. In the novel (at least at the beginning) they are obviously raw denim bibs. As a non-native English speaker it's a bit hard to read and the plot and setting is a bit unclear and not good described , maybe I read too fast. But the setting and time reminds me of The Waltons (but fewer kids) or To Kill A Mockingbird.

The page details are for British 1990 hardback edition from Cascade. Novel is from 1980. 191 pages.

The rest of the book was also hard to read and understand. There's a plot but I already forgot most about it. In the 2nd half nothing much about overalls and about the historic setting. Sometimes mentioning that somebody is barefoot. Some dramatic and some violent scenes, a baby is born etc. 4th of July festival at the end. But why an opera stage play? After finishing my other books I might read it again more carefully to fully understand all of it.

Back to the Future (1985)

The movies had been aired some few weeks ago but I missed them (of course I have seen all of them long time ago but can't remember every scene and actor).

This famous movie is very good and won 1 Oscar. Timeless plot and still interesting. And very good 80s music. Somehow I never have the time to watch it again (like most movies I have seen before).

I only noticed this very brief scene at 33 minutes (even fewer parts as most of it is dark lit). Maybe I have to check it the next broadcasting for more supporting actors. And also the other movies (but he only starred in here).

For this brief scene I only can give rating 3-4 for now. The movie is much better, but I prefer other movies and less action nowadays.

Some weeks ago I found this during research. It's completetly on YouTube but I checked it at high speed. Scene is near the beginning. I only noticed this short gardening scene.

Typical drama based on real events. But probably nothing special. Directed by Armand Mastroianni.

Olthough there are some expensive DVD offers, this seems not officially on DVD (according to Lee) or is OOP. The DVD cover might be foreign release or from a VHS or DVDr or a MOD.

What else should I say about this movie?

Rating 1-2 for this older lady. (For the sake of completion). I also don't like those women and non-farm dramas.

Now I found some new pics and facts about some more actors like Levi Bonilla (I think not acting anymore but being a musician), but I searched especially for Kody Brown (Dragonfly), I also found his sister Cassie, who also appeared in the movies (probably also not acting anymore). I'm not sure if there are fans of the Sugar Creek Gang and Kody Brown here. He is my 2nd favourite actor in bibs (next to Kyle Eastwood).

One year ago I searched for him but there are dozens or hundreds of Kody Browns and since a few years also the favourite actor from "Sister Wives". So it's very hard to research.

It was known that the Sugar Creek Gang was filmed in Georgia and that Kody did  stage playing even before. The facebook site of Lexi Johnson also showing some newspaper pics with some more details about age and location of the other actors.

First I found a different guy also called Kody Brown who looks like him, is about the same age and even lives in Georgia. I was sure that it's him and was a bit shocked. He has a much younger sister and an older brother. He has very short hair. But then I think I've found the right one.

I think he played some characters in King Lear in Atlanta (one year ago). I haven't found any pics or clips of that. But there's a clip on YouTube from the official theater (called Thanksgiving 2013). There aren't many Shakespeare theaters in Atlanta (I think just 2). He is now a professional stage player with a BFA degree

I also found some earlier and later plays with him.

It is completetly on YouTube but I think I only found this brief scene in bibs. She also wears a short red (non jeans) skirt.

Bibs aren't that bad but I think few (good) scenes if any. Probably no complete full body view, just this headshot?

Sorry, I'm quite busy and can't say much more about this.

-Comment: Some younger and a bit older kids skiing in snow bibs at least this kid (unknown if boy or girl, maybe a girl) without jacket so showing the complete snow bibs. I remember some unusual clothes as some skiing in shorts.

I recentlty bought the Disney DVD box The Adventures of Spin and Marty (western blog rating 10, b&w) with many boys and teen boys in tight jeans including perfect scenes of riding, shirtless scenes, pajamas and the like, unfortunatley no bibs. (Also on my bedroom blog, rating 8).

One extra is a complete 1955 episode of  "The Mickey Mouse Club" with it's Newsreel showing this short scene. I remember few seconds only and this is rather for the sake of completion.

As I have very few snow bibs entries and the winter is coming soon and someone asked for snow bibs, I add this.

I have to recheck it at slow speed and can't say anything about other Mickey Mouse Club episodes. I bet there are others in bibs in the studio as well. Not counting other serials inside the MMC or other international MMC which I have to check as well.

No or no notable rear view or complete body view.

Much fewer scenes than in the first movie (rating 4). Not even Sophie Marceau in bibs. The movie is even much weaker.

At least another rare bibs entry.

Rating 2-3. Movie even less.

Also a toddler boy in blue shortalls in film 2 (and a toddler girl in part 1) but no need for tagging these.

I have completetly checked my "missing Felix list" and for the rest I couldn't find usuable pics or clips I could use (except 1). I also list here some other movies I couldn't find pics for a long time. (I have to recheck all of them from time to time). The good thing is: I found some other ones.

There might be some few pics either official pics or other copyrighted or watermarked pics I don't like to use. Or even a DVD, but I wouldn't buy it and haven't found any good clips. Maybe db1 or someone else can help and submitting pics.

Maybe I forgot some. I have to update and research my other lists.

-Comment: 14 yo Sophie Marceau as 13 yo Vic in very tight light blue bibs (pic 1), also good rear view but simple straps till the bottom only. Also sitting on her bed (cross-legged) and sitting behind a table but one scene only.

A younger girl (Alexandra Gonin, 12 yo) in light blue striped bibs with a white belt. Vic's mom (Brigitte Fossey) in dark blue bibs (real man's bibs with back bib piece), 2 scenes also inside (mainly side view) renovating the house and also her husband (Claude Brasseur) in blue bibs.

At the very beginning there are 2 teen girls with short dark hair, one in light blue bibs wearing a thin white belt (pic 4) and a bit later one teen in dark blue bibs almost looks like a teen boy but probably is a teen girl as well (unpictured). All scenes are in the first half.

As announced this had been aired yesterday. The 1982 sequel coming soon (but much fewer bibs scenes, an older teen girl/young woman and the girl in pic 2 in rare bibs).

I like the 80s, I like French movies and music but I don't like romances, girls' movies and I hate dancing. I also don't like much very tight bibs. I have seen this movie before but it's rather boring. Most teen boys are older and not handsome. Tomboy Sophie Marceau is quite interesting (only in movie 1). Few other good and funny scenes like prank and kissing in a cinema.

Good and famous movie for it's time. For bibs scenes rating 4. Will be added to my tight bibs list and in bibs on bed list.

Some weeks ago I found this movie on YouTube by coincidence. (Not because of Halloween).

I only noticed this very brief scene with these running kids. Fast movement and so nothing much to see.

Looks like a typical teen movie. Nothing special. But I can't say much more yet and have to recheck it at slow speed on larger screen. Maybe I missed something but I don't think of anything notable?

Rating 2-3 for now only. There's also a 1973 movie with the same title (same production company), also on YouTube with a quite handsome boy, but probably no bibs scenes there (?).

Coming soon: "La Boum" girl, about 3 teen girls, a woman and a man in bibs, not sure about teen boys (girls have short hair and there are lots of supporting actors in the background). Also the sequel (still being aired). How could I miss these?
