Another French comedy film I found during research for my unknown movies.

I can't say much more about this movie. I think I won't like this movie and plot.

Rating 2 for now only. Balasko also starred in Le hérisson 2009 (girl, rating 5) and many other comedy movies and even in Polanski's 1976 Le locataire.

Update: Briefly checked at high speed. Scene at 10 minutes. White belt and hands in pockets. I haven't seen any other bibs scenes.

Update: Father Is a Bachelor

Finally another purchase after one year (list). Rated 6-(7). Excellent remastered image quality. More bibs scenes than thought but of course could be more. 3 of the 4 brothers called Jan, Feb, March and April in worn according to a colorized lobby pic light blue bibs. One with repaired straps like Huck Finn. One blond handsome other brother but not in bibs. Boys are Gary and Billy (pic 3+4 ?) Gray and Warren and Wayne Farlow (pic 1 ?). Most scenes barefeet. Also 1 or 2 younger boys in dark bibs but brief scenes in the background only. Also men in bibs.

Notable scenes of them only in about the 1st 3rd of the movie. Best scenes at 10, 20, 24 ,33 (35 other boy), 38 , 40 and 42 minutes. The boys are not always shown and later wear other clothes.

Pic 1 showing 2 of the brothers looking like twins. Bib at high position (also see the main entry). Pic 2 showing all brothers (their dad bought them shoes for school). Pic 3+4 showing a younger brother. Also good scenes with him. Fishing with dad, playing harmonica, sitting, standing up and bending picking up from the ground. Some few farm or garden scenes including milking a cow but not of interest. Also all sitting/kneeing on the floor inside the house. The best scenes I already had on the porch. Some few rear views.

I like classics. But can't rate higher than 6-7. Raw denim or some more better scenes would be better. Movie is a romantic comedy film, mix of family, musical and else.

The DVD is a (simple) copyrighted officially RC0 DVDr (mod).

Sorry for just another update. Currently completely on YouTube (in German). Very handsome boy (but not in bibs).

~13 yo Bethany Richards in colorful shortalls. But I prefer the blue shortalls. Also cycling in both. Blue shortalls only at the end. Pic 1 at 40, pic 2 at 1h13. Bib (both shortalls) at quite low position.

Good kids movie.

Update: The Valley of Light

I have recently checked the complete movie (rating 7) but at high speed. Currently completely on YouTube (in German).

Good Hallmark movie set in the 1940s. 11 yo Zach Mills in quite baggy bibs as announced with glowing ears (pic 1+3).

Also some other kids (at least 2 boys) and men in bibs fishing at the end. Not bad either but short scenes.

So a bit more bibs scenes than assumed but rather few good ones. Also a close up scene of his lap and earlier painting scenes like in the novel Soup or A Painted House . But half of the scenes are dark or in the background. Luckily some more scenes at the end.

Info 385: Blog design

The blog design has changed but it wasn't me. Colours are different and the pics on the top posts getting smaller and smaller, therefor the top 10 pics and texts getting larger.

One of the problems is that the theme is no longer supported (for free) so you can't choose it for a blog anymore. I have chosen it as it has some advantages like wider right column, better text style and less bugs like no overlapping of texts into the background like the top clicks (like on my sailor suit blog). I wonder about the bugs for more than a year. Also the height of the header is very small here, so I have my header image as pic on the right.

Maybe I should choose the same theme like on my other blogs.

Now I see, that the background colors of all my blogs are blue like on my first blog.

Wordpress.com often change and experimenting with themes and other stuff for their paid wordpress.org customers.

Same for the stats.

Maybe I will wait until others reporting the problems. Or I will try to at least change the background.

So prepare for more changes.

Now I see that parts of the lists on top are missing like the A-Z list. Also the menu entries boys, girls and women. Maybe because the font is too large. Please use the tags on the right column for now. I try to fix this.

Saving and exporting the blog is also more difficult. You get the export data only per mail (and that only for my 2 older and bigger blogs including this). A guided blog export is $129.

I also encountered some problems with the paragraphs especially when editing old posts from my older blog.

Update: Now, about 15 minutes later the design is like before. Maybe it wasn't wordpress's fault just some browser, flash and java issues. But I have seen that there's an option for the top menue that only the recent pages should appear.

The other bugs and tiny pics are still there.

During research for my unknown movies on my sailor suit blog I found this interesting movie. I checked dozens of movies and also found some more movies with overalls.

Unfortunately I only have seen a short clip of this and don't know the complete movie yet.

There must be also scenes at a swimming pool and also kids in speedos there and kids in shiny short as casual wear elsewhere.

Somehow I assume few (good) bibs scenes. Probably there are different days at school shown and the kids also wearing other clothes.

So rating 5-6 for now but unsure. Movie rating maybe a bit higher but kids are quite young. Not sure about maybe other supporting actors/actresses.

Update: Who Has Seen the Wind

As announced an update of this nice Canadian movie (still rating 8) showing 10 yo Brian Painchaud in blue bibs set in the 1930s.

Many good scenes. I haven't noticed or can't remember (good) riding scenes but there's also a brief spanking scene at 1h03. Pic 1 a sitting scene on a wagon at 1h16 including climbing onto it and a good rear view at 1h04 (pic 2). Hands in pockets at 59 minutes (pic 3). The image quality of this current YouTube vid is pretty bad.

The company selling DVDr but oviously in good quality doesn't exist anymore after 7 years. Now I have seen that a DVD is available at allankingfilms. $25+15 shipping. That's 36 EUR but not including customs, taxes and PayPal fees. A bit expensive. I think I'll wait. Maybe the price drops or I find a used DVD. Instead I will order the bestselling novel and hope to get the illustrated edition.

I have briefly checked all episodes that are currently officially online but haven't found any teen girl in bibs. One in a blue short bibs-like dress or similar.

I don't like this series with 18-20 yo teens. Aimed at 15-18 yo, probably mainly at girls. Though the bibs in the link look quite interesting. I think I have to check the web in 1 or 2 weeks again for the other episodes.

Info 382: Updates f/m

First I have updated and uploaded this pic of a woman (Alexandra Paul) of Redemption of the Ghost (also a 6 yo girl in bibs).

Then I used my own to blog to search for DVD I could by because I need some movies in high quality.

I started at rating 10 declining to 6. I only found few movies worth buying. I have ordered one classic movie (will take some time for import). Others are partly online for stream but often in bad or very bad image quality, others aren't available on DVD or only have few good scenes.

I have recently checked Murphy's Romance (starring Corey Haim) and made an entry on my western blog (here and there rating 7). But I only found 2 brief scenes of him in olive bibs. Some other, probably few and brief western/ranch scenes of interest but I haven't bought this.

The other one I want to bought although online is Who Has Seen the Wind (rating 8). The website of the DVD company Learmedia is defunct and I haven't found a DVD elsewhere. It's on YouTube but now in bad quality and I will upload some more pics later.

I have uploaded a new pic of Nicostratos le pélican (from the trailer). I haven't captured my TV recordings yet and maybe there's no need for more pics of this shortalls. Movie is completety on YouTube in HD.

I also searched for some non-bibs DVD but same problem here. Available online. DVDs unavailable or expensive.

Update: Nicostratos le pélican

Has been aired today. Previously rated 7. And this is a very good family movie and perfect plot. Setting and scenes almost like Respiro / Lampedusa, one of my favourite movies.

Set in Greece on an Island and interesting boy actor (14 yo Yannis). Father/son relationship and some touching scenes. Maybe one of the best recent Greek coming-of-age and bibs movies.

Some scenes shirtless in this short bibs but rather short scenes. He is sleeping in white underpants (slip, not tighty whiteys) and put on these bibs. He often wears shorts including red, blue and white shiny shorts (also swimming in these). Later sleeping and swimming in blue slips.

His dad even talked about what pants these shortalls should be. He said that they are his working bibs.

I wouldn't buy this movie just for this shortalls. And maybe this short scenes wouldn't qualify for rating 7 but the movie itself and the actor and the shorts scenes are probably worth it.

Directed by Emir Kusturica who also starred as his dad. He also did some other very interesting movies like "Le grand chemin" and "Otac na službenom putu" (I know both).

I found this scenes by coincidence. I have seen the complete movie (at slow speed) some years ago and only have rechecked it at high speed recently.

Perfect movie and plot (for it's days and it's kind). Today most kids are like this and you can see many clips like this. 5 years ago I used to buy these kind of movies but nowadays I prefer movies with more handsome and younger actors. I even bought Bully (2001) starring Nick Stahl and Brad Renfro, also directed by Clark but was disappointed even then.

Here rating 2-3 for these brief bibs scenes. Movie rating currently 6-7 or maybe 7-8 for the plot.

–Comment: Many boys and some girls (including an older teen girl) in rare firefighter bibs (jeans fabric?) and belts and berets in ep 2. Their chef in coveralls. Also a woman in a bibs-like blue working dress (ep 1, farm scenes) and boys in soccer shorts (ep 2).

First it looks like a military group but they are firefighters. Backside simple but wider crossed suspenders till the bottom. Zipper on the bib pocket. Most have their bib at very high position but some at low position.

Setting seems to be in the 70s. Short scenes, some close up views. Correct title Nech žije deduško.

Rating 5-6. I don't like the simple straps but like bibs with bib at high position and firefighters. So rather rating 6 also due to the time and country.

Book 50: Dime novels

My first dime novel I bought is this. Toni der Hüttenwirt #52. Very good cover pic. 12 yo twins Polly and Patrick. The girl looking older and wears light blue bibs, shortalls or skirtalls. Very handsome boy but not in bibs. Unfortunately no mentionings of bibs inside and no more illustrations. And no details about cover photographer or kids. (Only the note that cover has nothing to do with the content). Also good for photoshopping (note the nose region of the boy. Looks like already photoshopped). Set in Austria but publisher in Germany.

There are many different kinds of dime novels. This is a romance with alpine setting. Some covers depicting boys and men in Lederhosen. There are also other genres like aristocracy, medical, and medical in alpine setting (Bergdoktor) or medical in alpine setting and aristocrat kids. Of course also traditional dime novels like crime, horror, western and the like.

Probably a typical drama plot here. Kids run away, new relationship after divorce. Happy end.

Some novels of this series are available even for free as ebooks (at some time, not this one) but I prefer real books. Update: The digital edition has a different pic. I also found another, younger girl sitting on the grass

Thanks for this suggestion. At least 9 times the word "overalls" and set in the 1930s.

But I understood that the boy is 18 yo. A bit old for someone who run away. Violent dad (same plot like in Nine Man Tree, book entry #43).

I'm currently quite busy and I don't think that I will buy this book.

Must be a 1990s documentary as this German channel "Eins Plus" existed until 1993 and I doubt that this is set in the 80s. I'm not sure if I still have some parts on VHS or even later transferred on DVDr. Recently I just found 3 tiny screenshots. When I have more time I will search and check for the movie but I doubt that I have it completetly and maybe haven't written the title. Maybe someone know it?

I think that these are rather Mennonites. And then I thought that all Amish and Mennonites wear overalls. Later I mainly have seen them wearing simple pants with suspenders. And if overalls mainly black ones.

Interesting docu and I remember good scenes including rear view (maybe climbing up a fence ?).

Rating 4-5. Also nothing new about my other unknown movies.

I recently found a much better clip of this remake (previously rated 4).

The teen boy doesn't appear overweighted. Also a good rear view. The 8 yo girl also wearing bibs but currently no pics.

The b&w classic with a younger boy is of course much better and more famous but I have to check the complete remake.
