Update: Vagabonden (1940)

 

I had almost ordered this DVD, but I finally found it online (but in quite poor quality/low resolution). There are several bibs scenes, I think 3 long scenes, first one starting at ~29 minutes. The boy wearing an additional, thin belt only in one of the first scenes. Also quite good rear views. Front view of pic 2 is the available publicity pic. Pic 1 is at ~37 minutes (also hands in pockets). Pic 3 sitting on a hay stack at 39 minutes (and standing up).

Best are the sitting scenes (and standing up) inside at a table (see main post) at ~51 minutes. I think there are 2 longer scenes. Bibs pictured here look faded, but appear much darker inside. Probably a 2nd pair.

The DVD is not expensive, but I think the shipping/import. So for now, I won't purchase this.

As announced a boy, probably Sebastian (who appeared sitting in bibs in Kinderen voor Kinderen helpt mee) dancing in purple coveralls with white zippers and light green woollen cap in clip Hand in Hand. Also a girl in turqouise coveralls. Clip from 2020. In the 2020 clips of the "Big Show" all kids appear in historical clothes ~1920s like pants with suspenders and caps.

I haven't found him in bibs in either show or regular clips, so maybe that are his real casual clothes?

Update 2: Who's the Boss? (1984)

 

I have checked (almost) all episodes available but mainly up to season 5. Pic 1 is from s1e11. Obviously the best scene. Also standing outside. Pic 2 from s2e3, different pair with a light blue or grey patch. I haven't found any more of Danny Pintauro, nor others in bibs (but I think there are some episodes of season1 missing). Good beach scene in s2e6.

Info 1519: Films with scents - Scent science and technology - olfaction - past smells

There are new attemps of scent science. Scientists of the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History found and reconstructed ancient scents. They examine archaelogical artefacts and somehow extract the scents. There are also other approaches of scanning old books and paintings with AI to detect descriptions and sources of odor.

Currently this is mainly used for tours in museums and the like so visitors can smell paintings.

But there are also new attemps for scent films, most are still in development but obviously almost finished. Previously there were mainly scratch and sniff cards and Smell-O-Vision. New technologies are smelling screens, feelreel and the Architecture of Smell ® by OVR Technology. Latter 2 ones in combinating with VR glasses. Editors for movies are already available.

I first found very good desriptions of scents in one-room schoolhouses (smell of new overalls and starched dresses). But this is only true for the first school days (September) as long as the bibs hadn't been washed. And in winter there's also smoke from the coal oven. And other smells like manure, sweat, turpentine, chalk, flowers from outside etc.

The new studies are soon to be published, but they mainly examined scents from ancient egypt. But I think there are also other scent databases, projects and samples. So maybe there will be scent movies soon. Although even 3D movies (without glasses) are still not wide spread.

I have to check the complete movie more carefully which is on archive org in perfect quality (link on Wikipedia). Probably just this brief scene. At 1h08. Also being laid down, almost sitting. Bibs are probably hickory striped. 

Most versions are much shorter. Full version is 2h09. I think also coveralls or at least a space suit at the end.

I found an untitled, very brief clip showing a teen boy in faded bibs. It's definitely a Sci-Fi series or movie (with a space ship), probably Japanese (but could be dubbed, as the actors don't look Asian).

Update: English G Lighthouse 3

I wasn't sure if teen girl Tally really is shown in bibs/shortalls but now I found another, better screenshot on the producer's blog confirming it showing her washing a car (with open jacket, see link below). Bibs are tight. 

There's one young teen boy (Alfie) who might wearing bibs as well or maybe coveralls. Hard to tell from this pic with almost closed jacket (but probably not).

Girl is not shown completely but I assume long bibs. But obviously few/very few scenes. In total, the teens are shown ~30 minutes, but she mainly wore something else. Her real name might be different but probably is credited on the DVD. I first thought that she might also appear on Lighthouse/Headlight/Highlight 4, but as that in set in the US, there are obviously other teens.

Clip is called Sketchup 57 (unknown season). Dieter also in Lederhosen in 1984 ep 6 and in a sailor suit as boy (another one for the age transformation site).

I've seen this sketch recently on TV (compilation, not on the mediathek). Luckily I could find this online (after quite long search). Now, I'm not sure if they are bibs with a belt or just jeans with a matching sleevelsee shirt/top. The image quality on YouTube is quite poor. The top appears to have a different color here, but I think this is a shadow. I will recheck this the next airing.

There are probably more scenes. Very few supporting actors. At least I remember Dieter as firefighter (close jacket, but I assume bibs in the 80s).

Very famous series and I like it. Originally 23 episodes in 4 seasons 1984-1987, but there was a 1997 sequel with another 12 episodes.

Books 116: Dime novels #3

 

I found some more, interesting German dime novels (click to enlarge). All or most are OOP. Some are available as ebook. Some are also reissued with different cover pics, some under different titles. Usually, the cover pics (like on books) have not much in common with the contents, so mentionings inside are possible but rather unlikely. I found some more but toddlers.
