I like the baggy bibs. Unfortunately very few and brief scenes.

Pinocchio (1997 Athens play OCAF)

 

As announced a play that I found (uploader vhsordie who also uploaded the great Tom Sawyer 1997, rating 6). Same boy David Weber. Clip "Pinocchio - Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation at OCAF Center [8 -6-97]" 53 minutes. Uploaded 1 month ago. For an unknown reason (obviously due to the space in the brackets before "-", that would exclude it) this can't be found by a Google or even YouTube search. So one has to check the channel vhsordie or remove the date. Laurent had added 2 other Pinnochio plays (I think with grown-ups only).

At least 4 boys and at least 2 girls. Pinocchio Gepetto pic 2 on left sometimes wears a red apron over bibs but later removed that. Pinnocchio is Maria Moody. There's also a boy in oversized yellow non-jeans bibs, another one in orange ones and a chubby older girl in faded shortalls (unpictured as Blue Fairy?). 2 or 3 others in shortalls or similar.

Interesting, my first Pinnochio play.

Rating 4-5. I first considered rating 4. But many scenes and many actors, so rating 5.

Update: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997)

 

Searching for more scenes in Friends (1994) ladies, currently rating 4 (coming soon), I got a recommendation of Buffy. YouTube clip called Buffy's cutest outfits in season 1&2 of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". (Unknown episodes) Pic 1 probably s2e11 also sitting in that shirt. And s2e3+s2e4 in white shirt.

Rating was previously 5-6. Great scene in pic 1. I think this is Sarah Michelle Gellar. Great quite baggy bibs. I think ~rating 7 now.

I previously just had Alyson Hannigan (pic 2). 6300 pics on IMDb. Also a supporting actress in shortalls in s4e1. Alyson (mainly in Dickies) in light green bibs in s2e15, red bibs in s2e9+10, white bibs in s2e4, faded blue in s2e1, black in s3e5, dark blue bibs in s3e3, s3e9, s3e15, s3e17, s1e2. Probably not much more as I've checked all the pics.

Update 4: Clarissa Explains It All (f/m)

I have briefly checked all episodes. Much more scenes than assumed and even teen boys (mainly Sam in baggy shortalls, see previous post, rating 4). The best quality is on archive.org (all 5 seasons) but at least my favorite ep (s5e3 pic 1 is missing), so luckily I first checked the poor, cropped German dubbed clips on daily. Almost different clothes in each episode, but not that many different bibs.

Brand #29: The Waltons - season 4 part 3

 

Season 4 completed. As said many disc issues, so I couldn't re-check everything. Pics (click to enlarge) showing a close-up of Ben's purple pair standing outside (incl a button) in ep 20, cd 6 at 7, there's obviously another pair not purple but same brand ep 18 disc 5 at 1h18 (with Jason) same at 2h09 ep 19.

Then Samuel (in Test) and Tom sitting in s4e9 at 15. Also Tom running. I didn't recall these only the other favourite scene inside school walking front+rear at 5.

Below the rear of John-Boy in liberty stripes in ep 18. A long diamond. Both Hercules and Sweet Orr had this. According the "/" hole rather Sweet Orr. Jim-Bob Elizabeth and Zeb on disc 3 at 2h40 I think ep 12. Jim-Bob with thumbs in pockets (Key), and Elizabeth in a striped pair.

Brand #28: The Waltons - season 4 part 2

 

Disc 2 is even better concerning Jim-Bob's bleached pair. But I encountered many disc issues on discs 2-4. Some pics of disc 4 coming soon. On disc 5 John-Boy wore for the first time "real" overalls with a shield back and quite baggy. I didn't remember that. Great pair. I never liked his simple faded tight pairs (at least 2) with low back and Boss suspenders.

The pattern is liberty stripes as a close-up show when hunker down in red shirt. Pic 1 at 2h01, pic 2 at 1h40 even better front+rear. Double episode 18 The Burnout.

I searched a lot but haven't found all these exact features. I assume brand Hercules (pocket hole usually different on left \ or |) or maybe Sweet Orr. Liberty stripes were shown in Montgomery Ward catalogue (vest back) but also used by others including OshKosh. The style is vintage 30s/40s, 2 small bib pockets, one with a flap. The tag was removed on the right. The pocket watch hole "/" on right is quite rare and used by Sweet Orr, N&W, Go-Pfor, Hawk Brand and The Boss (Cohn) but usually the tag is elsewhere. I have to recheck the rear.

I think Zeb wore Sweet Orr (pointed pocket) in season 2 or 3. In season 4 he wore Big Smith (with tag).

During research I found 11 more brands/manufacturers: Baker, StoneCutter (Universal) Chicago (painters/carpenters), Powr House (Ward), Lion Brand, The Boss (Cohn), Capitol City, Comers Limited, Bill Couch's (WW Couch Co. Lynchburg, VA), Homespun (Pittsfield, New Hampshire), Red Diamond (St. Louis), redrock (Big Smith). Most of these vintage pairs are very rare.

Update: Rear has a long diamond (both Sweet Orr and Hercules had).

Brand #11: Kidsongs

I have checked my 2 favourite episodes: Country-Sing-Along and Boppin' With the Biggles, mainly Locomotion. Rating 8. Matthew Bartilsson wore this pair in half of the DVD. There's a long white label at the left of the bib pocket. There are very few rear views, best in "Nashville Cats" very briefly in the audience. I saw this white triangle on his right rear pocket. Must be brand Guess. The label at the bib pocket is usually on right but also vertical or diagonal.

I think with the belt loops they're mainly worn by girls.

I haven't found the brand of Kari Floberg yet. Maybe Washington Dee Cee. The girl in Nashville cats is another pair (and girl).

Below a scene from Locomotion. At least 4 brands. 2x OshKosh: Megan Miyahira (middle) and Kyle Stanley. I think 2x Liberty (right). The ones with the half lid have no labels and yet unknown. Mainly worn by girls, also in Little Red Caboose. (Incl sitting and better rear views). At least one other brand with a white/blue label. Maybe Lee Probably Big Smith (Christian Buenaventura).

Update: Kinderen voor Kinderen 18,19,43

 

During research for 2 more brands (ep 10,18, see upcoming post) and ep 1, I found a boy in ep 19 (pic 1, song Hou nou 's op (I previously just found 2 girls), and another song in ep 43 with 9 yo Raaz, song Gi-ga-groen (pic 3) good side view. 

Pic 2 is from one of my favourite episodes 18 (f/m rating 8). In song Zeer hoog begaafd, several girls (some might be teens) and maybe boys lying on the floor in a circle, moving legs and also turn around. In the middle a boy in raw denim bibs (but a shirt over them). Some good scenes. They also lifting him up. Also interesting seam, side and over the knees. There's another younger boy standing in song Kunstgebit. Best song and boy is in Smoorverliefd. Best girls in Pesten is geen Spelletje. Unlike most other episodes, they wore the same clothes. Many kids also sitting on the floor.

The upcoming episode maybe not having bibs or shortalls, at least none known yet in headshots or group pic.

Brand #5: Enid Blyton Secret Series, etc

 

I wondered about the brand of the very baggy bibs of Mike. Even more difficult. Not just the labels romoved, but modern, not vintage, set in the UK, very brief rear view without shirt, partially.

Very rare is an horizontal short strap on the rear almost looking like a belt. Maybe not original. Maybe to somehow fix the wide legs as he's rather thin.

I think this is a Tommy Hilfiger pair. There are different styles. Often straps are not out of jeans. There's also a loop or label on his left leg.

There are some more vids and pics. Typical boy band. Blond TJ and Clay (the only 14 yo) were handsome at the beginning.

I first had trouble finding good pics on the web. Best maybe on facebook official fanclub Philippines (take5ofcp) including these black bibs (pics + this clip).

I like baggy and dark bibs and I like the younger boys but somehow I can only give rating ~5. Clip is quite short and image quality quite poor. Same for clip 2. I prefer others like Aaron Carter (rating 7).

Michael Jackson: Black or White (music clip)

 

2 black boys (according IMDb Marliss Pugh and David 'Lil Dave' Shelton, other sources (cartasparamichael.blogspot and fanpop) say one (on right) is Marlon Jr. Jackson (his nephew), not credited on IMDb) in baggy, dark yellow bibs. A pic from making of/ and or his birthday showing in total 5 black boys dressed like this (vindicatemj.wordpress/pinterest). One of them might be Demetrius Pugh, brother of Marliss).

And on the left one white kid, I think it's a boy, must be Wade Robson in colorful bibs with a belt. (Took a lot of research finding/confirming his name). Dancing/sitting. One kid should be Brandon Scott Miller.

Rather brief scene, half of it headshots. Also starring Macaulay Culkin (red shirt) but not in bibs. Black girl in yellow shirt is Brandi Jackson (his niece). Michael jackson also wore bibs as a kid.

For the brief scene rating ~4 only. 1991 song/clip itself of course much higher.

Huck Finn (2020 play) school project

 

One of several Tom Sawyer/Huck Finn plays from the playlist. There are around 10-15. ~4 are almost perfect. Some others with many boys and I think also girls and women. I'm posting my favourite ones first. Some I already had (B-TV’s Tom Sawyer, by Batchelor Television, rating up to 8, there will be one or two posts especially from the 2006/2007 play, I found pics or scenes before, raw denim, but haven't found then the full clip, the title of that is Scenes from Tom Sawyer.

This one is 47 minutes by uploader Madeleine Donahue. There are 3 boys barefooted in raw denim bibs, but most often shown are these 2. Best scenes are these cemetary scenes. Front+rear. Bibs especially of the left boy are baggy or oversized, so he had to often lift up the legs, especially at 40 minutes. Also sitting scenes while fishing.

Rating 8-9. I first considered rating 9 (maybe I have to recheck) but I give 8. I will have to make a list later.

There are also some new clips added to the playlist. Including a feature film called "Long Road Home (1991)" but I think mainly young men in bibs.

Update: L'argent fait le bonheur

 

I now managed to make a real screenshot of the last scene at 1h04 (pic 2). I have installed updated codecs (I think it was the regular libav for linux). Obviously that disc (same product line) has a different copy protection as I hadn't issues with the other disc. Or the disc has more data (widescreen). The other pics are at 43/46, scenes 6, showing how low and baggy the bibs are worn when standing. And his heigth compared to other kids. And the main location outside. Probably local kids.

Scene 1 is similar. Scene 4 (standing inside shirtless with open bib) is partial, mainly showing his chest and parts of the bib. There is another scene near the end but from a distance (sitting on the floor inside).

I still haven't seen the other 2 DVDs. "Marius et Jeannette" I've already seen most online. (Man and lady in coveralls and young girls in shortalls, see Dernier été.) After the other "A l'attaque! (2000)", I think I try to check more from that director, mainly missing the 2000s.

-Comment: A boy in stone washed bibs, many scenes, often with the bib down, baggy, also shirtless. Bib at high position, overlapping straps. Also several scenes of a young man shirtless in white bibs. And an older man in blue coveralls mainly at 18.

This film is better than thought but the boy younger, not ~12 yo but ~10. Many good scenes. Cool, show-off. This is even more like a documentary, a portrait of different kids and their families. And a priest. Half of the movie is set in flats, the other in front of large buildings, suburb. 7 actors named Hamzaoui, probably relatives/siblings of the teen boy in Dernier été. 2 actors named like the director.

DVD is 16:9, PAL RC2, extra: short preface, no audio commentary. Obviously other copy protection like the other. I can't access >58 minutes on a PC, so pic 4 is a photo off a TV screen. English title:Money Makes Happiness.

Aired in series "Les mercredis de la vie" (31 ep). For the first DVD Dernier été (1981), teen boy rating 5 see that post. There are 2 more movies on the DVDs but I don't assume bibs scenes (Coveralls and young girl shortalls).

Landfrauenküche (2009) s15e6, Tom Turbo (on TV)

This evening (Monday) on Bayern 3. Aka Lecker aufs Land - Kulinarische Schätze. Episode Nadine Manger - Unterfranken. Bavaria. Although there are pics of that host lady in dark blue bibs, I haven't found her in this episode. Instead one of her guest and earlier hosts (obviously the youngest lady, Theresa Bub, host in s15e3, but I haven't found bibs in that) in hickory striped bibs, quite baggy or oversized. Several good scene when arriving and looking around (first half). Also available on the ard mediathek (-> Bayern). Also man of the host lady in green working bibs. Farm setting/plot (not the guest).

I don't know all episodes. I currently don't watch this series (Monday was Young Sheldon). I don't have the time to check all episodes. Probably some more in bibs (maybe even kids of the hosts?). I have one boy in Lederhosen on my other blog (rating 3).

I have a boy in Lecker aufs Land (red working bibs, rating 4, I made a re-upload). Not sure if this is the same series. Kulinarische Schätze might be a spin-off or sequel.

Yesterday (SU) there was a re-broadcasting of Tom Turbo ep Graf Drakulas Geheimbuch, showing tomboy Fanny ~12-13 yo in good bibs (rating 6-7) and 7 in another episode.

The image quality is maybe a bit better than the YouTube clips, but is cropped widescreen instead of 4:3 full screen. Available on the ORF mediathek. (Sendung verpasst -> gestern (Sonntag) ~9 o'clock.

Update: Pierino movies

 

I'm currently re-watching my DVDs including Pierino contro tutti (boy rating 7, pic 1, I also have an update with another pic). Funny boy and with the baggy grey corduroy bibs and the cap he looks like a street boy. I wondered if the other boy in "Pierino colpisce ancora" (rating 6, pics 2+3) wore corduroy bibs as well. 

Some uploads are in quite poor VHS-like quality due to the age of the movies (1981,1982). There are new uploads in where someone has both trailer in 1080p. I think there are no BDs including the trailers. He did it himself not sure how, it's not just upscaling but also improving the frames and also restorated audio and fixing the speed.

Pic 1 is from that improved trailer (YouTube Pierino contro tutti - Trailer (1981) (Restauro audio/video 1080p), but downsized here, pic is I think just before the crouching scene at 1h19. There are also headshots. The trailer of  "Pierino colpisce ancora" not showing the boy. But I found other clips in good 720p quality. 

The last pic at 1h20 clearly showing the corduroy fabric. The cuff is darker. It looks like if the main fabric is inside and is turned inside out so it's smoother inside and brighter color outside. And I'm quite sure it's the same pair as on the other boy one year earlier.

I also found a Pierino comic series with an illustration showing an older teen boy or man in bibs. I also have now added the third movie in the main entry (girl, man rating 2). And I have checked most of the other official and inofficial movies of this series (2 later remakes, I haven't found) and similar movies. I also found the current site of the actor (film 1) who is now a singer in Rome.

There are some quite new official uploads on YouTube, widescreen but in much better quality. Some new songs, I missed before. Like Wooly Bully (pics 2+3) 2 or 3 girls in shortalls one with skirtalls. Pic 2 is Stephanie Koyano. All 3 also appeared in Yes, We Have no Bananas (Baby Animal Songs). Another girl sitting in colorful/purple bibs in song Fred the Brave (clip Halloween Party Songs for Kids /very end).

Very good is a boy (with hat and not hickory striped) in I've Been Working on the Railroad (pic 1 rating 6-(7), in clip Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and more Patriotic Songs) and unpictured here 2 boys in If I Had a Hammer (rating 5), same clip. Pic is from an earlier post and not widescreen.

I had to think of the Cedarmont Kids. I was surprised, that I found new (official) uploads on YouTube and clips I haven't found before. And some are very good (including raw denim bibs). I haven't checked them all, yet, as I have to go more than 2 years back.
