I don't know all episodes and not all are on DVD. Pic 1 showing a muddy scene with a girl and maybe also boys in bibs in the movie "Lisa und die Riesen" (1986 wide release) aired in 1984 from ep 157-160. Directed by Thomas Draeger. Available on DVD. Looks interesting maybe even worth buying? Who has seen it or knows more episodes?

Update 7: Chiquititas Brasil (1997) season 4

An older update. Thanks db1 for pointing out this scene, showing 12 yo Jonatas Faro and some girls in light blue bibs (pics 1+2). I had checked that episode before, but due to the brief scenes and very poor image quality, I haven't noticed him. 1997 episode / clip 498 (season 4). Ep 499 should also show him but is blocked here and still needs to be checked.

Still searching for my unknown Italian movie (some updates on my sailor suit blog), I found this movie starring Leonardo Ruta.

Very rare series. Nothing much more known. Also Soccer scenes (11-12 yo boys). Production company Sidecar. Also aired in Hungary under "Bajkeverők". Title means Lessons of Trouble. Troublemakers. IMDb again very incomplete.

Who knows this series and can provide (selfmade) pics or more infos?

Update: The pic is an publicity pic or screenshot I found in 2016. There are no pics at all left on the web, so I use this for historical reasons to illustrate this actor in this movie. The studio Sidecar is I think defunct. I don't know who has the copyright now. As usual all pics are used by Fair Use license.

All 3 young brothers and the toddler boy separate in bibs in front of a mirror (rear view) also in underwear in episode 3. Thanks again to db1 for pointing out this brief scene, I missed in 2012. Pic 1 showing the oldest boy, Eric (Matthijs van de Sande Bakhuyzen) ~10 yo. Jelle and Tim 8 and 7 yo even looking younger.

Great comedy series and very handsome boy (in the early episodes, longer bowlcut starting from ep 3) but for the brief bibs scenes, rating 5-6 for now only.

Thanks once more db1 for pointing out this episode! It's even one of the best scenes of a boy. I only checked the 46 movies at high speed, so it's possible that I miss some scenes, especially brief scenes, scenes from a distance, bibs under jackets and the like. I did my best and also checked screenshots, so I have at least most of them, especially when often wearing bibs like the main characters.

Nothing more to say. Very few good scenes, so rating 6 only. I haven't noticed rear views.

My favourite Australian series, and "Little Squirt" with the peeing contest is my favourite episode. I don't have the time to check all 52 episodes. Maybe there are more actors in bibs? Different cast in different seasons. Best are season 1 and 2. Season 2 starring Jeffrey Walker.

For bibs scenes rating 3 for now only. Series of course much higher. Very funny plots, handsome actors and a perfect title song. I even bought the book by Paul Jennings of this episode.

I somehow think, that this jeans of Huckleberry Fox (on the right) could be overalls. Brief scene at 1h23. At least I haven't noticed any other scenes.

But why hidden under a T-shirt ? He often wore bibs elsewhere.

Update 5: The Waltons – Season 6

The final update of season 6, disc 7. Most notable here is the fat boy Clarence, played by Ken Marquis. I have some tiny pics of him before and he also appeared in season 7 (also riding). He wears blue grey bibs (fabric seems quite thin), bib at high position and a rare loop on the rear. I mainly knew a hammer loop which is usually at the side. Pics 1+3 starting at 2h44 (s6e22).

Update 2: Operation Splitsville

I have rechecked "Operation Splitsville" but as usual at high speed (currently on YouTube in very good image quality).

At least one more older boy, around 10 yo, makes 4 boys and also 2 more girls makes 4 girls. But rather few good scenes, mainly at the beginning.

Most often shown is the young blonde boy, around 6 yo in hickory striped bibs. I don't like him.

The movie is good, some handsome boys. But there are lots of similar family movies. I first thought of Eric Hendershot as director. But due to the few good bibs scenes still rating 5-6 only. Needs to be rechecked again more carefully the next broadcasting.

Finally some more bibs in this series. At least 2 young boys (uncredited). One blonde boy in light blue bibs (bib at low position) and one in light brown bibs. Episode: The Colonel (1974).

Pic 2 showing Jim-Bob walking (disc 4 at 1h36, ep 14). Bibs are not hickory striped which he often wore especially with that shirt.

Pic 3 showing Jim-Bob and Ben painting in coveralls (disc 5 at 1h59, ep 22). Maybe they wore pants or even bibs underneath. Also quite interesting.

Pic 4 showing Jim-Bob dancing (and standing up, brief scene). I think these bibs are hickory striped. Fabric is more sturdy and often in the butt crack. Disc 5 at 51 minutes.

Terms of Endearment

Comedy film starring Shirley MacLaine

I own the DVD for some time time but rarely watch it. Probably I haven't posted it before as the boy is very young.

Also on my shiny shorts blog (no pics, rating 7, although 2 brief scenes only) and on my bedroom blog rating 3 (boys sharing 1 bed). Also starring 10 yo Troy Bishop (blue swim shorts, brown corduroy pants, also sitting) and young Huckleberry Fox (red speedo), both shirtless. Kids are not often shown.

Although 5 Oscars, the movie itself is quite boring and there's no real plot (they are just living). Some scenes of Jack Nicholson are quite funny. And I like the early 80s, but is this worth buying for just some few seconds? Definitely not for the bibs scenes.

I always wanted a shiny shorts (and swim shorts) movie blog. Now I have started it. Also a historical fashion mainly in the 1980s.

Please note, that I use less pics and don't show too indescent pics. As all my blogs, it should rather be a list or database, as I have a bad memory. And sorry for a different design. Both my themes are retired.

"Chissa perche... capitano tutte a me" aka “Everything Happens to Me” and “Why Did You Pick on Me?” (1980) starring Bud Spencer and 8 yo Cary Guffey (hickory striped bibs) rating 5 has recently been aired. Some quite good scenes of boys in white shiny shorts (pictured).

Lindenstraße – ep 782

Finally another bibs scenes in Friday's episode 782 (year 2000). I think it's Tobias Beyer (later played by Jannik Scharmweber) as Nico aka Nicolai Zenker (son of the now grown-up Iffi). Dark blue bibs. Also on the arm of an older (unpictured) man, maybe his granddad.

Part of the movie series "Frühlingsreihe". In "Frühling zu Zweit (2015)" Thomalla wearing rather tight, dark blue jeans bibs and rubber boots. Farm setting in Bavaria, maybe more actors?

In Frühlingskinder (rating 2) there's another young girl in rare, dress-like bibs and also a young man (Jan-Hendrik Kiefer ?) in Lederhosen (Lederhosen blog rating 3). I haven't checked more movies of this series.

This girl in green colorful chequered short (3/4th) bibs in ep 233 of season 5 (available on the first compilation DVD).

I only noticed this brief scene and haven't checked the later surrounding episodes (except ep 234, 235) as they aren't available on the DVD. Rating 3-4 for now for this scenes.

Book 63: Author Louise Dickinson Rich

This author is mainly famous for her 1942 autobiography "We Took to the Woods" (living in a cabin with the family in the 1930s) but there are also other books of interest.

Unfortunately neither this first book, nor other books have a preview, but in "She Took the Woods" it says that she ordered overalls by mail order, but her husband and their friend wore denim pants with belts. And one day, their son Rufus didn't want to wear overalls anymore. (Not sure at what age exactly, I think at about 8 or 10 yo).

In "Star Island Boy" (1968) aka Star Island , the 11 yo foster boy is depicted in yellow fishing bibs on the cover. Maybe also described in the book, but I'm not sure about that.

Her last book "Summer at High Kingdom" (1975) seems more of interest. I mentioned it before and now have ordered it. A teen boy is depicted in blue bibs on the cover. It's about a hippie commune and a neighboring farm boy. Probably set in the 1970s but I can't say much more, yet of this quite rare OOP book. More later.

There are other books from her, mainly set in Maine. But only four more non-fiction novels, the rest mainly about girls (probably not in bibs). Other non-fiction books are about nature and history, partly picture books.

I also found another interesting author about boys and girls in bibs including illustrations (coming soon).

Update: "Summer at High Kingdom" completetly read. Unfortunately 2 brief mentionings only. The 21 yo farm brother in "dungarees" helped milking  (page 28) and another scene on page 62 of boys and girls picking beans in the holidays in blue, red and green dungarees. Time setting not stated. As some are hippies, so around late 60s or 70s.

Unfortunately the 7 yo boy is very young and small. But there are also other good scenes in this series. Currently rating 4 for bibs scenes. Rating 6 on my bedroom and sailor suit blogs (previously an unknown movie for the older, shirtless boy). 2 more pics on my sailor suit blog.

I think, I currently won't buy it. Maybe later when the price drops.
