I have seen this movie some years ago but didn't pay attention to the girls then. I prefer the original 70s series. Very good, 3 girls and 3 boys (also see my bedroom blog, entry for this 90s movie coming soon, also on my sailor suit blog with 11 yo Cindy in a dress with white collar).

I don't like the 70s and don't like at all this movie.

Rating 2-3 for this shortalls. Probably few scenes only. Rating 2-3 for the movie as well.

Update: Probably it's A Very Brady sequel and a dress and not shortalls. Also a dress in the original series.

Story 45: Pockets, Hanky code ? (Sugar Creek Gang)

I recently saw again the 5th and last film of "The Sugar Creek Gang" Teacher Trouble (pictured). My most favourite bibs films after Honkytonk Man. Dragonfly (Kody Brown) has a purple hanky in his right back pocket. Bill has a red I think cap in his left pocket. I wonder if this is a "hidden code" like the gay Hanky code. Also funny, sensitive and allergic Dragonfly uses this as hanky to blow his nose and also as a scarf.

The purple or fuchsia color means in the hanky code spanking, the right pocket passive. Red on the left means fisting active. I don't own this novel and this is maybe a coincidence.

More important is maybe the bib pocket. (Another entry for that coming soon -> The Sun Comes Up). Also interesting other accessories and especially leather belts (often seen in the 80s).

The 1st pic showing Little Jim in light blue bibs (rather few scenes and only in this 5th film), then Poetry (dark blue baggy bibs), then Dragonfly and in the background the girl Circus (tight regular jeans and blond pigtails). A boy in the novels, also interesting.

The 2nd pic showing Bill and Dragonfly in the one-room schoolhouse at the end of the movie. Very good sitting scene. Note that the color of his bibs appear lighter inside. Backlit, in the shadow or wet, they appear much darker. So I'm still not sure if they're always the same pair. Maybe they have a similar pair if they got wet? He's wearing bibs nearly always, except for swimming and the revival.

I also noticed that Dragonfly's hair has different length in the same episode (also much longer in the making of). The green camouflage shirt doesn't fit in the 50s, but he also wears a green pullover. Green color fits perfectly to the blue bibs. Also a younger and older boy in bibs and men. Sorry, no women.

I found this by coincidence during research some time ago. I still couldn't find any clips and I don't know much more about it. 15 minutes. Directed by Jacqueline Falk (Zurich High school). Other sources say 2005 but 2002 is correct. No IMDb entry (but entry for the actress). Laila delivers pizzas (obviously bibs are working bibs ?) but she wants to be a musical star.

Info 206: Update B-TV's Tom Sawyer

I now have downloaded all 3 parts and previously missed these very good "wet" scenes (also completely pushed into the water, 1st pic). Also a younger boy in beige or white bibs. I still hadn't the time to watch it completely at slow speed. But many very good bibs scenes. At least 5 boys. Also Tom Sawyer (1st pic on the left) running while his bib down and undressing it before swimming (in these longer shorts). I still haven't found the raw denim scenes taken from the trailer (obviously very short scenes). I don't like the short tight bibs of Tom Sawyer.

Had been aired some days ago. Quite funny and entertaining family film (rated PG) but I missed the beginning. There are better movies. I think rather few bibs scenes (also of Devon). Most of the bibs scenes are in the dark. And the playground scene with the others is also not long. Aka "Cop and a Half".

Book 22: Taylor: Roll of Thunder (series)

I found this book series by Mildred D. Taylor by coincidence by searching for "new" farm books. There are in total 8 novels including short stories and prequels. The first real part of the trilogy is "Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry" which won a Newbery Medal. It's about a black family mainly set in Mississippi of the 1930s. As the very first part "The Land" decribing mainly the life of the father many years earlier, I bought the last (1990) novel "The Road to Memphis" set in 1941. The main character is the black teen girl Cassie who has 3 brothers. Roll of Thunder, The Friendship and Song of the Trees showing boys and girls in bibs on the cover (some editions). In the book I bought there is also a white younger boy and 2 white boys who torture her black brother.

Some scenes reminds me of "The Waltons" but probably it's just because the Waltons has so many different plots, including racism.

I have read 106 of 290 pages. Only 2 bibs scenes yet, but if it says "pants" it most likely means bibs. I think most or all are sharecroppers. The teen girl isn't allowed to wear bibs, but she did at least at a hunt and God would accept it.

-Comment: Tarek Helmy in very tight light blue appering but hickory stripes jeans bibs (pictured in episode 2 "Der Alltag beginnt"), then Julia Biedermann *1967 as older sister Julie (but this is just a long jeans dress) in episode "Der Blaue Brief" and an unknown woman (age 30+) in ep. "Familienzuwachs" in blue bibs with a white belt. Also an older man (craftsman) in dark blue bibs in ep. "Krach im Haus". Maybe more actors? They also wear obviously snowbibs in one episode and Thekla Carola Wied a white sailor like collar.

This is probably the most famous German family series of the 80s. One episode had been aired last Sunday on TV and I just searched for bedroom scenes of the 2 brothers (but I think they have separate rooms).

Starring Peter Weck as dad, Thekla Carola Wied as mom and Timmo Niesner as older brother (~12 yo in s1). And some more famous actors as Maria Sebaldt, Herbert Herrmann and Bruni Löbel.

Interesting series and plot and I like it in the 80s but I wouldn't buy it nowadays. I also don't like too tight bibs.

So rating 4 for bibs, 6 for series.

I found this by coincidence as they also wear sailor suits (with long collar flaps, soon on my other blog, will be rating 4).

What else could I say? I don't like that music and older teen bands.

However it's quite rare to show snow pants. Often they wear jackets and I think nowadays there are snow pants without suspenders. So I had to add it here.

I currently encountered problems missing pics here and there. But all pics are there. Obviously just some server overloads. Try to reload.

I can't say much more. Looks like Tom Sawyer with that straw hats, but the plot is about orphans and a circus. Also starring June Havoc, Susan Olsen and Christopher Shea. Directed by Michael Caffey.

There is an official (?) DVD-r on demand available. Not sure about the quality. Maybe VHS quality.

-Comment: At least two boys with long hair in brown bibs. Kesun Loder (Aaron) and Logan Arens. First I wasn't sure if one or both are girls (and in the novels Aaron is the girl Clare). Their film sister, now 19 yo teacher Missie is played by 23 yo January Jones. Also at least a brief school scene, but haven't noticed any others in bibs. At least the dark brown bibs of Aaron have simple suspenders on the backside, but probably both have. Bibs scenes at the beginning and at 35 minutes. They also wear other brown pants.

This is the direct sequel (set about 10 years later) of "Love Comes Softly" (girl Missie, boy, rating 4). See also film #5 "Love's Unendig Legacy", rating 5 , boy and the Hallmark list. Directed by Michael Landon Jr.

Quite good Western setting, but typical brown non-jeans bibs like in LHOTP.

Book 21: Shutta Crum: My Mountain Song

One minor book entry. Some quite good and big color illustrations of a blond freckled Kentucky farm girl in bibs, also sitting on a bed fixing the braces of her bibs. Barefeet and smiling. Her dog licking with it's tongue. ;) Check "Look inside" on Amazon.

I don't own this book (Ages 4 up, illustrated by Ted Rand) and found this by checking new farm books on some different social book sites and shopping sites.

Thanks Felix for this suggestion (some time ago, also no entry yet on his dungaree movies blog). I remember that I have seen this movie and maybe I even have some parts somewhere on VHS. A rare movie and sequel to Titus, der Satansbraten.

Also starring Hans Clarin, Grit Boettcher and Ralf Wolter.

A quite entertaining family adventure movie including safari scenes set in South Africa. Few infos and few pics on the web. Just another close-up pic of her.

But I don't like it much. Both kids are very young. Probably few (good) bibs scenes. I have to check this again and hope for a soon broadcasting.

I don't know / don't remember this family movie (rated PG), novel by Cornelia Funke ("Inkheart"). But sorry, I don't like at all this young (and even younger looking) little boy with long blond hair. First I thought that he's a girl.

I will check this again the next broadcasting. However probably a good and exciting family entertainment also starring older kids.

Rating 3-4 for now. Another big rating difference.

Quite interesting. I can't say much more and have to check this again next broadcasting.

Rating 5 for now. Good plot, but there are probably better bibs movies.

Previously rated 5, now 7. Very good cycling scenes. Also black bibs at the beginning.

Good to have my bedroom blog. During research for 30 minutes for a title of an unknown film I found 3 other films (one for each of my blogs).

I have to check this again later. Movie rated R. Not sure about the setting. Also flashbacks of the 1960s.

Rating 3 for now. Probably a good horror movie.

Update: I still have problems finding better pics. The girl on the left wit the red ribbon (Victoria Leigh) wore a light blue dress. Clare Foley probably in the yellow raincoat and long pants. I think I meant the pic below which is maybe an announcement pic for Sinister 2. I haven't found the shortalls there, yet. I have to make a separate post anyway.

During research for some other rare movies, I found this movie on YouTube. I only checked this complete movie at high speed and it looks like a typical farm movie set in Kentucky of the 1940s (during WWII).

Emmy Award and 2 nominations for a Golden Globe. Also starring Mike Bacarella, Etel Billig and Christine Ebersole. There are some DVDs but obviously not official ones.

I like vintage farm movies but I haven't found any perfect or notable scenes. Also poor image quality. Horses but I don't know of any riding scenes in bibs. Also not found women in bibs. 150 minutes, novel by Harriet Arnow. Directed by Daniel Petrie

So rating 4-5 for now.
