I don't know this movie and mainly have seen him in other clothes including shorts on pics and trailers. Set at the end or directly after WWII. Some sources say 1944, others 1945 or 1946. Maybe it covers more than one year and that's why the actor is older.

Both French DVD covers are obviously self made, but there is an official US release by coteblanche (pink cover) as it was partly filmed in Louisiana (plot is in Alabama) and was on an US film festival. English title Cigarettes & Nylons.

Rating 3-4 for now only.

Update 7/2016: Now completetly seen. Unfortunately only about 3 brief scenes in the last 15 minutes starting at 1h11 with a vomitting scene. Scenes are quite good, bibs are baggy. Updated pics coming soon.

Rating 3 was correct. The movie itself is quite boring (though interesting historical plot). Sorry, I didn't know the complete movie and assumed much more and better scenes.

The girl appears in several episodes in bibs. Most often in blue bibs (at least in ep 3, 13, 16 and sitting in ep 44 (pic 4)). Purple bibs in ep 10, 33 (sitting) and 28 (pic 1). The beige bibs are from the intro and I haven't found other scenes with them. I think there are 7 episodes missing on YouTube. Other dubbed episodes have different episode numbers. I only checked them at very high speed.

Quite good sitcom. I don't like sitcoms anyway. The girl is very young and I noticed few rear views.

I wonder, why this awarded movie (and 1st Chinese Sci-Fi film for kids) has no entry on IMDb. So I don't have an official transliteration. Aka "Electric Boy", Chinese title "霹雳贝贝" directed by Chong Song, starring Ying Thang.

Many bibs scenes of both but they are too young and I don't like the bibs.

Rating 1-2 for bibs. Movie maybe a bit higher rating (for it's time and country).

Story 106: someone else's hand around hip

It's just little Elizabeth with her hands around Mary Ellen's hips but it could be anyone else like Jim-Bob. Quite good scene after the hammer hits on finger and cursing scene about the young preacher (s1e7), see update 1.

Good faded bibs. Her bottom somehow appears triangular or rectangular. Her straps are hidden under her long hair and don't have braces but holes in the straps and are overlapping.

She's only 13 in season 1 but looks much older to me. A real tomboy when wearing bibs and playing baseball but sometimes she (has to) wear dresses.

Story 105: Kidsongs photoshopped - both in bibs

Each time I see this Kidsongs DVD (Country-Sing-Along, rating 8 with another boy in bibs) I wonder why there's only the girl in bibs on the swings. It's the boy (Kyle ?) who moved to the country. So I made these 2 brief photoshoppes to look them alike. But they rather look like brother and sister and it's a bit hard to find a good dark jeans color. I also wonder why there are so few kids in bibs in this country episode and very few and brief rear views.

The other scene with the long swing is also very interesting and of course the dancing scene. But only one other boy in bibs and the older boys are in the back row. At least handsome Kyle is dancing in bibs together with all other boys and girls in the Locomotion clip (Boppin With the Biggles). Does anybody know other episodes with him in bibs or know their full names? He's also much younger in earlier episodes.

I already mentioned a similar thought in the story: 1 or more actors in bibs and dancing in overalls.

The Kidsongs series is great. Catchy tunes, handsome and happy kids but mainly younger girls in bibs. Unfortunatley there are no new episodes. But most or all can be watched on the official YouTube channel (in different quality).

Thanks db1 very much for finding this episode.

It's 14 yo Jeremy James Kissner ("Artificial Intelligence: AI")in this 2000 episode. One short but good scene at the beginning at a Circus outside. Good walking scene, front + rear. Bib at quite low position.

He also uploaded another pic with the unknown boy in hickory striped bibs (comment at main entry).

Is it really confirmed being from this series?

Update: The Waltons – Season 1 (part 1)

After watching series like "Highway to Heaven" and "Lost in Space" and several bibs and non-bibs movies, I'm now rechecking The Waltons. I have seen season 1 about 3 times completely, but usually I start with season 2, 3, 4 or 7 and unlike all other seasons I didn't have detailed personal notes and desciptions, just some time positions without actor name. When I bought this DVD sets, I mainly focussed on Jim-Bob (and other boys) but he's very young in the first season and wore simple, faded bibs, simple suspenders only, in the first episodes (later better, regular blue and hickory striped ones).

Pic 1 is from ep. 2 showing the simple bibs of Jim-Bob and young Jason with his hand in his pockets. Pic 2 showing Mary Ellen with a hammer, cursing in ep 7 (DVD 1h46). Pic 3 Jim-Bob in ep 3 in regular blue bibs in the barn. Pic 4 showing Jason with a straw hat in ep 4 (2h33).

There are also wet scenes (mainly Jason in ep 8 in bibs, also bathing costumes of all in ep 7). Another updates and story entries coming soon. I also started to exchanged pics with a bit higher resolution. Recently I exceeded 2,000 posts.

I have checked dozens of episodes but didn't had the time yet to check all 9 seasons. There are several famous and handsome boy actors like Nick Whitaker, Haley Joel Osment, Eddie Karr, Trevor Morgan, Courtland Mead and some more but I haven't found any of them in bibs. Maybe it's a brief scene (of a supporting actor ?)

However, I found some girls, teen girls and a woman. Pics: Pic 1 from s2e5 probably 18 or 19 yo Melissa Joan Hart, pic 2 and 3 from s4e6 in a summer camp cabin 15 yo Thora Birch (pic 2 barefoot on a bed) in long bibs, another black teen girl in shortalls sitting on a bed, and a young girl sitting on the floor in long hickory striped bibs in s4e15. Unpictured a chubby black girl in s1e9.

Quite interesting series, almost like Highway to Heaven, but I don't like Della Reese. I used to watch some episodes on TV but mainly remember Eddie Karr. There's also a sequel series and I also remember "Judging Amy" also starring Eddie Karr.

Soon also on my bedroom and western blog.

Rating 4 for now for the current bibs scenes but might depend on the boy.

I'll try to find more bibs scenes but I wait and hope that db1 or someone else can help here.

Filmed in 1982. Novel by Jan Kostrhun. The main plot is about a blond young boy and his granddad. Directed by Hynek Bocan ("O zvíratech a lidech").

I have checked it at high speed and can't remember much more.

Completetly on YouTube but in quite bad image quality, from a VHS source. (I have optimized the colors on pic 1.) Movie is maybe into Public Doman and there are several DVDr offers (in unknown, but probably bad quality as well). The novel and movie is a sequel to "A Christmas Memory" which is also available on DVD, and based on Capote's childhood memories; the main character is a 7 yo boy (not in bibs).

Starring Geraldine Page who won an Emmy in this.

I only found few bibs scenes.

Gülcan und Collien ziehen aufs Land

Both city chicks Gülcan Kamps and Collien Fernandes in dark blue non-jeans farm bibs and different rubber boots (yellow and dark) doing farm work. I don't have screenshots of that but there are pics and maybe clips on the web.

I still haven't found any clips. The DVD has recently been released. So we have to wait. There are other new, similar DVD releases of classics (Gaument à la demande, red DVD cover) like Trodadéro bleu citron (rating 4, boy 10 yo) and maybe more of interest.

French movies are often good, but I don't like curly hair and don't like hickory stripes.

I can't say much more yet until I have seen at least some clips.

Story 103: Webfinds historical farm boys and girl

I don't have time for that but I found some new vintage pics. I wonder how I could miss them by searching all 10.000s pics on loc.gov. 15 new pics (last ones on my FSA-OWI album on Picasa). Even one girl in bibs (or is this a boy on pic 4?). Mainly sharecroppers or sons from sharecroppers or similar. Some barefoot. Pic 1 is a segment from a 74 MB image (I also have the regular lower resolution).

–Comment: At least a longhaired kid, I think a girl (probably Suzanne Legrand) in tight dark blue bibs with long overlapping straps. Pic from s1e4 at 45 minutes.

During research for "Va voir maman, papa travaille" (I couldn't find any clips but will soon make a post) I found this series on YouTube. 2 seasons, each episode 55 minutes. Aka "Les Aventures de Papa Poule". Directed by Roger Kahane ("L'Instit").

I haven't checked all episodes. But I assume few bibs scenes. Some other scenes of interest. There's also a brother. 2 sisters also sharing a bathtub.

Rating 3-4 for now.

Update 2: My Dog Shep (2015 better quality release)

 

I bought my 2nd DVD of this 1946 Public Domain movie starring 12 yo Lanny Rees (rating 7). I wasn't sure if it really has the much better image quality as seen on the trailer. But luckily it has. Although it's not perfect like remastered 60s movies like To Kill A Mockingbird.

The newer RC0 DVD is pressed and not a DVDr and even has optional subtitles. The new 2015 release from VCI Entertainment is a double feature and has the sequel "Shep Comes Home" (which is not PD). I haven't seen that yet. Same dog but different boy. Probably no bibs.

The 2012 DVD from Alpha Video (oldies.com) has a poor image quality with many scatches and abrasion stripes. It has a different resolution 720x540 px but obviously upscaled and parts on the left and right are missing. The new VCI version  has a smaller resolution but showing more (pics 1+2 are complete frames) and obviously derives from a different or even several sources. 660x480 px (the black borders removed).

I made some more comparison pics. Left one, new DVD, right old DVD. 3rd one is the streaming archive.org film which is even much worse However there are still limitations especially in backlight or shadow, so some parts are quite dark. Others are lighter like the white shirt and faces but still has a better contrast. Note that there are also other single and compilation DVD releases (with probably poor quality).

–Comment: A very young girl, probably 7-8 yo Candace Hutson (but looking even younger) in light blue patterned and dark blue bibs. Also a blond girl (supporting actress ?) around 12 or 13 in dark blue, tight bibs with white bleaching parts (front + rear view). Also boys in very good tight 80s jeans; good fighting scene while the girl in pic 1 is walking away (rear view).

Film #3 I found on my PVR.

The young girl is too young and I think only few scenes of the older girl, so rating 3-4 for bibs scenes only. I don't remember the complete film and only have a 20 minutes clip on my HDD.

I like the movie and the boys in tight jeans and 80s haircut. Rating 6-7 for that.
