Not sure if I even have seen this movie, but I can't remember it. There are a lot of movies set in WWII. Autobiographical novel by Joseph Joffo. English title "A Bag of Marbles", directed by Jacques Doillon ("Le jeune Werther", "Le petit criminel").

I hope for a soon broadcasting but I will probably like film and bibs. I assume rather few bib scenes. However already rating 7-8 for now.

Update: I have checked most of this movie online. Obviously only this very brief scene at a stage play at 53 minutes. Still not bad. I like grey bibs and belts. And the movie is also very good. But maybe I have to consider a lower rating.

I think I even have seen this movie (rated G), but I can't remember. There are lots of Swiss Family Robinson and similar pirates and island films. I don't know of any other (boy) actors in bibs and I prefer the 70s classic series (see The Adventures of the Wilderness Family, rating 4 and Mountain Family Robinson, also rating 4 due to young age of the actors).

Starring David Carradine, James Keach, John Mallory Asher and Blake Bashoff as brother/son.

I have to check this again the next broadcasting. I found no clips not even trailers on YouTube. Probably deleted by Disney.

I don't had the time to check it completely and hope for a soon broadcasting. Usually I don't like those action, apocalyptic and too exciting movies. But might be interesting. Probably more than medium bib scenes.

Update: Completetly checked at high speed. The black boy in pic 4 at 17 minutes, the best scenes of Elliot at around 1h07. Near the end (1h57) there are some more scenes but dark lit. Probably he wore his bibs in the complete 2nd half but is rarely shown.

Info 143: comments, spam

Yesterday I found by coincidence some comments in the spam folder. Usually I got mail for comments, but obviously not for those.

Not sure if all comments are really spam, most sounds quite normal. However most with links or names from companies or similar. Some were asking about my website design and how the theme is called. But the theme is named on all blogs. Another one had problems following my blog, but others are able to follow. I think one or two are not spam, like asking about my blog design and that I had too much text. I think I have rather too few text as this is an information database and not just an image blog (for copyrighted pics). Pics without those informations like even missing the name of the film or actors are not very useful.

By default only wordpress blogger can comment and are published at once. I changed that, so also anonymous readers can comment and that I moderate them first before showing. I never had so much spam on Blogger (due to captchas). Probably I have to use a captcha or other plugin here as well.

If someone has problems commenting, also try to comment anonymously or try my old blog. Or be patient and check or try again later.

Books 16: Sugar Creek Gang

This is about the 36 books in this book series. The film series (5 films) is my favourite series (rating 10) next to The Waltons. I previously owned some of the books (in different languages) but didn't notice bib scenes there and have to reread them. As I was searching for new good farm and bib books (long time no book entry here), I noticed that about half of the books describing some partly good scenes.

There is one book "The Green Tent Mystery" with a woman in bibs, even depicting one one the cover and 7x the word overalls. No film with that plot nor other women or girls in bibs (just a girl in tight regular jeans).

I wonder why no other book cover depicting the boys in bibs although descibed them wearing bibs and doing farm work in the 1940s. In some older editions there are some illustration inside (also no bibs seen yet).

Most of the bib scenes are describing that they wore their bibs with the legs rolled up (to their knees). And that they should keep their (raw) denim bibs clean and dry (probably this is because of the Christian topic; also compare this to the clean and white sailor suits on my other blog). Of course they often get wet (and dirty).

Books with the most overalls occurence are "The Bull Fighter" 12x, The Swamp Robber (8), The Blue Cow (9) and The Green Tent (7, woman). Only one but good in Secret Hideout, which is also my favourite film.

In "Locked In the Attic" Dragonfly's parents want that he is dressed like a Cowboy. Bill would also like that, but his parents insist that he wears overalls, being barefoot and so can't go outside. The films and characters therein are a bit different and some plot of several books were put together. The films showing lots of bib scenes but not talking about them.

You can find books with bib scenes by using the look inside function at Amazon. At non-US Amazon sites you can't search anymore or only show few Kindle parts. No text on Google Books. If I find some good scenes I will add them here. (Will take some time).

Update: I have completely read The Secret Hideout. One scene about Little Jim in his new clean denim bibs on page 11 and another one grapping the straps on page 51. The plot is very similar to the movie. However the characters are a lot different. Circus is boy in the books and Dragonfly has a crooked nose and big dark eyes. Tom Till has red hair. Would be very funny but I like the actors as they are.



Update 2: Good bibs scenes in book#2 The Killer Bear. Hot day, barefoot, rolled up legs, ready for swim. I don't own it yet and just read the preview.

I don't remember this movie well and still have to check this the next TV broadcasting. Obviously a Perkins classic. Novel by Helen Eustis. Also swimming scenes (Perkins and the boy). Some clips on YouTube, but I haven't found a good bib scene clip yet.

Tramitz and Friends

I saw a young woman, maybe in her 30s in dark green bibs recently in this show. Inside and not perfect view.. This is a German comedy show with very short sketch scenes. Not sure if I should add them as well. Nothing special. I recorded very late but will add a pic soon.

Must be from the 2005 show but not sure. 2 shows on last Saturday on Pro7, I think it was the last one. Available on DVD. Maybe there are also other actresses in bibs or maybe other clothes like Lederhosen. But for bib scenes not a must have. Maybe someone is also interested in this.
