Sequel to Sarah, Plain and Tall (1991), rating 5 with a young boy in brown bibs and a man in bibs. As announced on my Hallmark List.

Also starring Glenn Close, Christopher Walken, Emily Osment and Lexi Randall (The War (1994)).

This is from the dungareemovies blog. Thanks very much Felix! Sadly he hadn't added posts for a long time. I like ranch movies and didn't expect bibs scenes in here as it's quite rare wearing them on a modern ranch. I always thought that this is just a typical romance with grown-ups only. So I still haven't seen this famous movie completely and only checked it briefly recently. Sorry for the bad pics I found. Some better ones at Felix' blog (he gave rating 8).

I will check this the next broadcasting and can only give rating 5-6 for now for these short scenes.

Nominated for 1 Oscar, 170 minutes, novel by Nick Evans. Young Star Award and a nomination for a Young Artist Award for Johansson. Pic 3 at 1h00, the others I don't remember.

I can't say much more. Also sorry for again missing icons at the top posts. Wordpress is again experimenting with some widgets and themes. Some days ago the complete right coloumn was messed up. That doesn't appear on the paid wordpress.org blogs just on the free wordpress.com blogs.

Update: Now I have seen the second half of this movie (as it was not announced). I only noticed about 2 short scenes with her in bibs (new pics below). One in the barn in regular blue bibs and one in light blue or gray, maybe baggy bibs or maybe the same as on pic 2. No complete view of her overalls and Joe not in bibs in the second half.

So still rating 5 and I will update this the next broadcasting.

Another one from the "chicks list". Even a young man in bibs. Scenes at 33 min (Lori) and 60 minutes.

I don't remember if I have seen the complete movie, I mainly know most of the 80s songs, of course (Kenny Loggins and Bonnie Tyler). I have checked most of this movie recently and only noticed few bibs scenes. It's better than thought also including some farm/rural content, but for bibs scenes I think I don't like it. Actors are "quite" old. Is that really Lori Singer? Looking much younger and different. Also sitting on the floor (rear view).

There is also a 2011 remake which I don't know at all. But it probably isn't better.

Rating 4 for now. No need for a trailer, although Chris Penn is in it.

Thanks very much for this and the other commercial suggestion. I think it's OK to add historical commercials here, although they are very short. I won't add commercials which are still running.

He's a handsome actor and bibs are not bad, but brief scene, no rear view and very young. And bad image quality. So rating 6. Easy to find on YouTube, and not much more there so no need for embedding it.

Story 48: Better barefoot or boots, front or back?

 

I sometimes ask myself what I like more? Barefooted actors/actresses or in solid shoes or boots. And front or rear view. I'm still not sure. All is interesting if I like the actor and bibs. But I think I prefer barefoot and maybe rear view.

I personally also like wearing solid shoes and bibs. It's hard being barefoot in cities unless it's summer and you have a garden. But I prefer watching others anyway.

Recently I have checked again The Waltons (Season 1 and some parts of season 2 and 7) and there are fewer barefoot scenes than thought. I think Jason is showing the most barefooted. He sometimes wearing shoes while working or at school but at leisure time he is nearly always barefooted also if it's cold and everybody else wearing shoes. I wonder if he had to or if he just liked it. He also had his legs cuffed up.

People rarely wearing sneakers with bibs (Elizabeth while dancing in season 6 or 7) and also Dragonfly of the Sugar Creek Gang walking in the creek. Both in white sneakers. And cowboys rarely wearing bibs. Some actors also wearing rubber boots  but I only like it if real wet or muddy.

-Comment: Canadian Charlotte Sullivan in blue shortalls. 3 short scenes at 34, 38 and 46 minutes. Also really cycling towards the camera but rather standing than sitting. The orange shirt is so long that it reaches under the shortalls till the upper leg. (Or the shortalls are too short).

I don't know why or how I could miss this one. I own the DVD for many years. One of the few uncut horror films I own (according to IMDb the DVD is shorter). Good plot and handsome young Kevin Zegers (also pictured and also shown shirtless at the end) but I don't like this horror film. Not bloody enough. Aka "Bram Stoker: Dark World". IMDb rating 4.8.

Rating 4 for the shortalls. 4 for the movie and 5-6 for Zegers.
