I found a pic by coincidence and don't know the complete movie.

English title: Amore Amore.

Rating 3-4 for now. I don't like this actress. Bibs and hair appear darker in pic 3. I think also a man in beige long johns lying in a coffin.

Update: The Big Show (1923) Our Gang DVD comparison

As announced, I bought the Our Gang Volume 1 compilation from Grapevine. The DVDr is not RC1 but luckily RC0. The image quality of the movies differ, some are b&w and very poor, others are tinted a bit yellow and are better. But I haven't checked all 7 movies (2h). Luckily, "The Big Show" is better and sharper than the online clips. "The Champeen" is also yellow and not better than the TCM clip. I still doubt that the Alpha Video DVD would be better, so this is probably the best available.

As announced several boys and many good scenes (sitting, standing front+rear). Most or all bibs are very faded, especially those of Mickey Daniels (ripped especially on his left side showing his underwear. I will make more posts later. Also on my other blogs. Main post, I think rating 7 was correct

I like grey bibs, but not this actor, bib at low position and few scenes anyway. Typical working bibs but could be worse.

Update: Ministern (1970)

Previously no pics at all, I now found at least a trailer and added a headshot of the boy. Unfortunately no bibs scenes shown in the trailer, except the old man. Obviously fewer scenes than 1st assumed.

But the boy is too young (6 yo) anyway.

The movie is available as stream (not for free) and obviously in good image quality. Maybe there will be a DVD at some time?

Update: Timber the Treasure Dog

I have rechecked this complete movie. There are even more bibs scenes than assumed, hard to choose the best pics. Bibs are tight and several nice rear views (fabric often in the butt crack). Also sitting on the grass (rather side view) and at the end wet scenes (a bit wet after leaving the cave for unknown reasons) but mainly headshots.

Story 150: Long johns, union suit, Our Gang, Sears

 A bit off-topic, but vintage clothes are always interesting. Long johns (and underwear) are rarely shown in movies or series, especially kids. And very rare in combination with overalls (and often you don't know what's underneath). I'm currently searching the late "Our Gang" movies (I think rather few actors in bibs, mainly Robert Blake with a small bib like in Waldo's Last Stand). Yesterday, I found Alfalfa in long Johns in "Came the Brawn" (1938), pic 2. He wore boxing shorts over them which were pulled down by the opponent boy, also rear view. Soon also on my shiny shorts blog. Pic 3 showing him in "Reunion in Rhythm". But he rarely wore bibs.

Some movies here with long johns are The Waltons (mainly John, Jim-Bob also shown in underwear), Looking For Miracles, Big City (2007) and mainly some other Westerns, I think LHOTP and The Cowboys (1972). I have to check for more (movies and books), maybe some are on my Western or sailor suit blog (+blogroll) .

A good source are the Sears catalogues. Pic 1 from 1935. Also some boys (and men) pictured in different overalls, I think good pics in the 1938 catalogue. I also found a girl in bibs there spring and summer 1938. Pics are on flickr (but mainly copyrighted). Some also on my Google Photos album, previously Picasa).

Update: Santa Barbara (1984)

There are currently hundreds of new vids on YouTube (Russian dubbed and titled, though), maybe now almost the complete series, and I have recently checked ~70 episodes, so in total more than 100, but I still haven't found Justin Gocke (pic 2 from ep 1104 and pic 3 from ep 1288) in bibs.

Maybe he wore bibs in the later episodes in the early 90s (shorter hair), I previously assumed him in bibs as younger boy around ep 900-1000. Now, IMDb listed him appearing in 194 instead of 186 episodes but there are very brief scenes. As he appeared in rather few episodes, I should just check those. I think previously, the later episodes were unavailable.

I found by coincidence a lady in tight white bibs in ep 193 (also rear view) and also a toddler boy in white bibs or shortalls in ep 1012.

Maybe he didn't wear bibs at all and it was just a publicity pic? When making suggestions, more details are helpful, if possible, especially on lengthy series. I don't know even the year. 1987? 1992? Same for the different Sitio do Pica-Pau Amarelo series (2000+ episodes, still missing the girls and some boys).

I always considered buying DVDs of Our Gang, so that's my first one. Although Public Domain and available online, I hope for a better quality. There are many compilations, but these earliest silent films are rare and I only found 2 DVD sets containing this one. 1st the 2006 RC1 Grapevine DVD (I ordered) Our Gang Volume One, and the 2017 RC0 DVD Hal Roach's Rascals Volume 2 (Alpha Video), both DVDr. I own 2 DVDs from Alpha Video and both aren't remastered and very poor.

One of the Smiths (1931) probably has a much better image quality but the new compilation is still expensive. Update: Not an Our Gang film but with some Our Gang actors.

More infos later (might take 1-2 weeks to receive). Rating ~7 for now. 20 minutes.

In Nov 2022 there was a new BD release Little Rascal Complete Centennial Collection having a bonus disc with 3 remastered silent films incl. this one. Bibs of some boys aren't faded but hickory striped, which can only be seen on the new remastered set

During research for Disney CRUJ (teen boy, girl, rating 3), I found an unknown, maybe unrelated publicity pic. And just found this series.

I only have checked some very few episodes. Mostly music/dancing scenes.
