The Dust Bowl

PBS Documentary TV mini series, 4 ep
–Year: 2012
–Year in film: 1930s
–Country: USA
–Who in bibs: boy ~7-11, men
–Available on DVD: yes
–I own: no
–Clothing occurrence: medium- ?
–Rating:  5/10 ?
–Rating: *****
–Comment: At least several boys and men in bibs. Obviously mainly b&w pics and footage clips.

As announced, more entries, I recently found during the search for Virtual Reality.

Pic 1 is I think a photo, looks like a famous one maybe from loc.gov (but I don't have it on my albums). Pic 2 is a moving scene, same clip called Eyewitnesses, pic 3 is a colorized photo from the trailer. But I think latter one is a brief b&w moving scene.

Unpictured a boy sitting in hickory striped bibs in clip Uncovering the Dust Bowl.

I haven't seen the complete series which is 4 hours. 4 episodes, according IMDb 5 episodes, according PBS 2 parts. Directed by Ken Burns.

Great phptos in very good quality also available on BD with some extras. But I doubt that there are perfect moving scenes showing bibs. The moving scenes are probably in rather poor image quality. Interesting, though.

Rating ~5-6 for now. Also needs checking for raw denim, teen boys, girls and women.

There are also other Dust Bowl and Great Depression clips around. But mainly also showing photos. More later.

Schloss Einstein – ep 383

I recently rechecked some few episodes around the 381 Leon firefighter episode (rating 8) and found this one showing Otto in I think episode 383 or around. I mentioned him before in my list, but obviously never made a pic. Hand in pockets. Probably also a man in bibs.

Typical working bibs and Otto is quite handsome but older now. Bib at low position. He was also shown earlier in Lederhosen (see my other blog).

Rating ~4 for the few bibs scenes.

New episodes, season 22 starting on April 1st 2019. Main entry f,m at

Info 970: Only 2 posts in TOP posts instead of 10

There are much less than 10 posts displayed in the TOP posts and pages, again, currently just 2, yesterday 3.

First, I thought, that's again a bug or server issues, but now I found the reason.

The remaining 8 hits are the pics clicked in the Antaeus update.

I rarely have this kind of icons/slideshows/galleries and pics are not clickable anymore (as they are not scaled and not linked to itself).

It's sort of a bug, as they should appear in the TOP clicks and not TOP pages and not displayed at all. I found this by coincidence, checking the weekly stats. So there will be more entries again, soon.

Update: After there were no posts at all, I managed to display the Antaeus hits by checking a box called show media. Obviously, each pic of a gallery is handled like a page. Icons are the empty default "man icon". either as the page is empty (I cannot add another pic) or because the images at too small to scale. There were more than 10 hits each a day of any of the pics, so no posts got more. Now 2 other posts appear at last.

Kids Go To School (Chuns and Best Friends)

Web series
–Year: 2018- ?
–Year in film: 2010s
–Country: USA/ Vietnam?
–Who in bibs: girl ~10, boy ~3, others
–Available on DVD: no ?
–I own: no
–Clothing occurrence: low+ ?
–Rating:  3/10 ?
–Rating: ***
–Comment: Thanks for this suggestion! It's obviously just a (I think Vietnamese) web series by Chuns Chuns (US YouTube channel). Unfortunately, the icons don't appear in the clips. I mainly found the "older" girl in shortalls (pic 1 from "Chuns With Best Friends Revelry in Fairy Garden The Children's City Toys". Mainly headshots, but also some sitting scenes here and in other clips.

I haven't found long bibs, some more, even younger girl in bibs-like dresses (also barefooted). And at least one boy (toddler) in simple shortalls in "Day Birthday of Chuns Children Make a Birthday Cake in Store With Friends". I haven't checked all clips (not that much, starting in Jan 2018).

There are also other, similar recommendations on YouTube from these clips (f,m)

Rating 3 for now.

Update: Bushwhacked (1995)

And another update with much better pics. Previously, 2 pics in very poor quality.

2 more new pics in the main entry.

Nice movie, handsome boys and peeing from cliffs scene (at 33 minutes, girl turning away disgustedly). Also good wet scenes of her bibs (at 1h03). Soon on my pigtails blog as well (rating 6). I think she always wore bibs but is not always shown or from a distance and often wore a jacket. Sitting scenes, but either mainly headshots or darklit.

Main entry, rating 6

Boys Will Be Joys - Our Gang

Classic comedy short film (Little Rascals), silent
–Year: 1925
–Year in film: 1920s
–Country: USA
–Who in bibs: boys ~6-9 ?
–Available on DVD: yes
–I own: no
–Clothing occurrence: low+
–Rating:  3/10
–Rating: ***
–Comment: Time for Our Gang. This time, an early one (silent, 20 minutes). One older, unknown black boy at the fair in faded bibs (pic 1 at 12 minutes). Also freckled Jay R. Smith (pic 2) in dark bibs and one very young boy. Many supporting actors at a fair but few in bibs and from a distance. Mickey Daniels I think not in bibs here but pants with suspenders.

There are better movies. Image quality is quite poor.

Rating 3 for this. Main overview

Info 967: Webfind: Junior firefighters advertisement clip

By coincidence, I found this and some other clips of German junior firefighters (age 14+). Also a man and woman in black bibs (without jacket).

This one from YouTube by benningstudios is called "Jugendfilm FFW Tacherting".

Tacherting is a town in Bavaria, Germany. FFW means Freiwillige Feuerwehr (volunteer firefighters).

Quite interesting. Without the jackets (undressing) to proove that they are real bibs. Some chubby boys.

Other clips to come later, including even cycling.

Update: CBS Schoolbreak Special: Never Say Goodbye

Some more and better pics of this one. At least 2 or even 3 different pairs.

Shortalls of similar and another, probably longer pair, obviously hickory striped and a cap. The 3rd pair seems long but could be the shortalls (same buckles and color). I only have checked this briefly.

Main entry, still rating 5-(6)

Story 154: 2 pairs of straps / overalls ? (Days of the One RoomSchoolhouse)

As announced, I found this strange scene of a boy wearing 2 pairs of overalls or at least straps. I think there's no front view, at least, I haven't noticed any. So I can only speculate. Maybe snow pants? Or for protection (is he painting) or is it very cold?

I have one other entry of a teen boy wearing 2 pairs (Gunsmoke, color)

/2016/07/24/story-134-wearing-two-pairs-of-overalls-at-the-same-time-gunsmoke/

Similar is overalls and aprons and overalls and backpacks. I also have overalls and a dress at the same time.

Update: Raggedy Man

Another movie, now completely rechecked. Many, quite good scenes especially of Henry Thomas ("E.T.") but only in the first half. Nice rear views, hands in pockets and cycling scenes. Carey Hollis Jr., I think in 2 different pairs. First in simple bibs with simple straps till the butt, later a regular pair.

Also recently updated on my sailor suit blog (rating 5) and soon on my bedroom blog, rating ~5-6 (both sharing one bed).

Nice plot and setting. Main entry, still rating 6
