Update: Fun House (1989)

I have checked some more episodes. So some more pics of the bibs (bib at high position and very often with a belt). Also wet and muddy scenes, but mainly in shiny shorts. Bibs at least in seasons 1- 3. In later seasons the boys and girls wore mainly or only (racing) coveralls (next to the shorts). Also sitting scenes.

I also have checked the 1988 US version and haven't found bibs scenes in there. But very good shorts including celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Danny Pintauro. Other blog, rating 7-8.

Story 146: Feed and flour sacks overalls and underwear - Great Depression

I knew that they made dresses out of flour sacks and I've read that some boys in the summer didn't wear underwear under their overalls. Now, I've read that they made underwear and overalls out of feed or flour sacks in the 1930s.

Obviously, underwear mainly for girls and little kids. The flour sacks often had brands and so were dyed and washed often to become smoother. I don't know how common this was and haven't found good pics except these ones from loc.gov.

I haven't found any bibs or underwear made out of sacks in movies although there are some underwear and undressing scenes like in To Kill a Mockingbird, The Waltons (I think in season 7). Maybe The Waltons weren't poor enough or they didn't had feed sacks because they didn't have much livestock (one cow, and chickens).

Also no good novels. Some few mentionings and a poem. It's more likely that boys didn't had any underwear in the summer.

–Comment: Although I own season 1 on DVD, I rarely watch it and previously had some few and tiny pics. First, the boys are very young and there are few good bibs scenes. I prefer JTT as Randy in season 3 and 2. No bibs scenes of him in season 1.

Some more scenes of her like in dark blue bibs as mailwoman in s1e8 and usually in light blue bibs, I think always with a belt. I think she also wore pink bibs. There's also a girl at the arcades in s1e13, similar like in season 5.

Update: Die Dienstagsfrauen – Zwischen Kraut und Rüben

2 better and larger pics. One with the bib down. I think most often shown is the older woman on the left. There’s also at least one sequel. Not sure about bibs scenes in there.

The lady in pic 2 (scene at the end) looking different but is probably the same as in pic 1 (on the right). Movie completely checked but at high speed. Previously a pic similar like pic 1 from a trailer.

Everts Balloon 1980 print ad

I found this ad in a German magazine and it probably shows a boy in hickory striped bibs (or shortalls), what were quite rare in Germany. Headshot only. Maybe there were more ads and even TV commercials of this or later other kids in bibs.

Everts Balloon, founded in 1924 was the only Balloon manufactory in Germany and #1 in Europe. Defunct here/sold in 2011. Ballons under this brand might still be produced in Malaysia and Poland (or just remainders). I searched the Web and archive.org but couldn't find  the products, advertised here called "Tricky Balloon" and "Party-Play", nor other pics or clips of interest. There must have been some accessories next to the ballons for a party. Nowadays, simple balloons are rare.

For the few scenes and young girl rating 3-4 only. Movie itself might be better. Also shirtless/swimwear scenes.

Update: Aliens (1986)

A much better pic of Carrie Henn in her hickory striped bibs.

Has been aired some days ago, but I missed it.

Most scenes are darklit. Nice bibs. One strap down, wet scenes. One of the best Sci-Fi movie series.
