Book 135: Earl Hamner: Goodnight John-Boy

Some months ago I bought this 2002 book. 18x23 cm, 222 pages. Yesterday, I have finished it. Next to a short biography of Earl Hamner, his family, his books, movies and series there are many b&w photos of The Waltons (including how they look later) and more of interest his family/siblings/ancestors (including headshots of 2 of his younger brothers aged ~10, but not in bibs, one is James, role-model for Jim-Bob, the other Bill, I think not made into the series).

More than 80% are brief summaries of every single episode (available elsewhere), but most of them are commented by either actor, staff or a fan. Some interesting behind the scenes backgrounds but nothing bibs related.

There are also some few weblinks but mainly fansites, probably most defunct now. Also a chapter about the Waltons museum. And a cast list indluding guest stars, latter one of course partial. The book cover is a mix from different seasons. (Jason and John-Boy ~season 1, most others ~season 6).

There are some more TV movies and specials than I remembered (1982-1997). I have to re-check those. I still haven't seen the 2 recent 2020s movies. Main entry, rating 10
