Brown bibs are only in the first half of the series (to ~ep. 11 including, I think), where it's mainly about the Tom Sawyer Story. Image showing ep. 9. His right suspender is partly tied with rope as the button at the bib is missing. Back view is much better. Real back bib piece. And Ian Tracey is not as thin as other boys. Later also riding but with purple checkered pants. Also dressed as a girl in one episode. Also nude swimming and bathing in a wooden tub from a distance. I can't find other actors in bibs, they were not invented in 1800s anyway. My favourite Tom Sawyer and Huck finn film/series. There is one film with real jeans bibs (Tom Sawyer 1973, starring Johnny Whitaker, see that entry) and some few other versions.

I'm currently rechecking this series. The first notable scene except for the intro scene is ep 3 at 11 minutes (sitting at a creek). Pics here from the German DVD set. Image quality is partial pretty bad. Bibs scenes often dark. Very few rear views.
