Good late East German movie. Released in Dec 1988, so one of the last ones from that state. I mainly rememember the bathtub scene with all 3 boys.

Also in plushy coveralls at ~1h11. Rather few and brief scenes. Pic 1 at 8, pic 2 at 24. Unpictured inside but distance in beige at 30.

Trailer was much earlier on the playlist (I've briefly checked the full movie).

Rather few good scenes, young boy,makes rating ~3. Name of character missing on IMDb, but I found this and his age elsewhere. I haven't found a DVD.

 

Tom Sawyer (2003 Marietta, GA play)

 

Another stage play from the playlist. This time 1h17 long. Uploaded one year ago by Krista Anderson (title Tom Sawyer 2003). Christian Family Theater Mountain View Art Place. At least 5 or 6 boys barefooted in bibs, one shirtless (2 young boys in red shirts). Boys quite young ~7-11 yo. Somersault at 4 minutes. Good scene (painting fence, front+rear, 1 sitting at 15). Another sitting scenes at 50 and 1h02. Pics from the end.

Quite interesting, but image quality is quite poor. Kody Brown (Dragonfly of the Sugar Creek Gang) used to play in Marietta (but different theater).

I have briefly checked this.

-Comment: I think Rebeka Suksta as 10 yo main character in blue shortalls. Obviously several scenes, also sliding down at a pole, sitting scenes and in a yellow shirt. But she's quite young. I haven't seen the full movie.

Update: The Road to Yesterday (1925)

 

By cleaning up my hard disc, I searched for this movie and found a new upload in much better image quality. As it's rating 3, there was no pic left, so I made a new one. The previous pic was probably from a 8mm print. Now you can also better recognize some other boys in the background. The boy on left also completely shown (rather distance). But only one quite brief scene near the beginning.

Nothing much of interest, except the new remastered DVD (The Restored Silents Vol 1) is delayed and to be released early 2024. ("The Big Show" is available on another Bonus DVD, but might be OOP). That was from a 35mm print, hence the perfect quality. 10 movies will be on each DVD.

To Kill A Mockingbird (2022 Chicago play)

Another one from the playlist. This time a professional one. 2022/2023 National touring. Broadway in Chicago. Clip is 1'27''. Also doing a somersault. Also sitting. Play by Aaron Sorkin. Directed by Bartlett Sher. Atticus is played by Richard Thomas (The Waltons). Scout is here Maeve Moyniha (I also found Melanie Moore with curly dark hair same year, announced in April 2022, same theater, 2nd cast?, canceled?). I also found some other (short) clips of that and some photos (sitting, rear view). 

Interesting, rating ~5 for now. (Jem and Dillan obviously not or not always in bibs and played by young adults as well). Maybe some men in bibs but no others are known yet.

In 2018 Scout was played by (older) blonde Celia Keenan-Bolger in this Sorkin Broadway play. Jeff Daniels there as Atticus.

Kalle Blomkvist - Mästerdetektiven lever farligt (1996)

-Comment: Blond Johan Stattin in faded bibs with bib down (stacked up). Many scenes (he always wore them) often hands in pockets. Sometimes worn quite baggy, but after sitting (distance) they aren't baggy. He jumps into water (at 26) but I think they're not shown wet out of it. Pic 1 at 26, pic 2 at end, pic 3 at 40. 

Unpictured: another good scene, partial rear view baggy, hands in pockets (also showing hammer loop) at 1h04 also very good front view of the other chubby boy in tight jeans (with suspenders). Good scenes at ~14 also rear view inside a building but often dark lit.

Has been aired yesterday and I rather saw scene 1 by coincidence. I've seen this movie long time ago and didn't recall the bibs. I would have missed bibs when bib down like this by a very fast search. I never liked this movie, although I like the round glasses of the main character. Remakes are often poor. 

The original movie was released in 1957 (b&w, I think no bibs). There's also a 2001 mini series which is obviously the same as the 1996 movie. In 1997 there was a sequel with same actors, boy in same shirt, but obviously in regular jeans and much fewer scenes (as main character is 5 yo Rasmus, also in Lederhosen, see other blog).

Mästerdetektiven och Rasmus (1953, b&w) has little Rasmus in dark shortalls (rating 2). Handsome older boys, but not in bibs. Good but typical kids detective plot.

English title: The Master Detective Lives Dangerously.

Open bib/bib down has pro and cons. Same for one strap down. And similar for hands in pockets. Rear and front. I don't like much this boy but bibs are quite good. And many scenes. The now grown-up, long haired singer also sometimes wore bibs (incl. video search nor his name).

English title, 1, 2, 3, Freeze (One, Two, Three, Sun). 

Rather few (good) scenes. Maybe some other good non-bibs scenes (but I have to recheck them). Suburbs of Marseille reminds me of the Guédiguian movies, especially L'argent fait le bonheur (rating 7).

Rating ~3-4 for the bibs scenes.
