-Comment: I think Philip Hurlic in faded bibs. I remember only few scenes.
Also starring Stymie from Our Gang. I found this by searching for more movies with ben Alexander. (There is Penrod and Sam (1923), maybe no bibs scenes there. The official 1937 trailer says it would be 1923.)
He also starred in Penrod's Double Trouble (1938) and Penrod and His Twin Brother (1938) obviously also in bibs, and other movies like The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1938) color but probably not in bibs and some few Our Gang movies (unknown if in bibs).
