I found 3 more episodes of Gunsmoke (1955-1975). Most or all episodes (complete series) now on YouTube. 2 episodes I found by coincidence. Unfortunately the image quality is quite bad, from a web broadcast (I even already have enhanced pic 1). There are some better German episodes around. I don't have the time to watch them all. Obviously very few kids there. Some more in further episodes, mostly younger kids, but in pants with suspenders only. Thats a Western series!
Pics above showing about 11 yo Johnny Whitaker in s17e3/e4 "Waste"(1971) in light blue greyish bibs. Later they appear much darker. Also see Tom Sawyer (1973), rating 6.
Good scenes mainly at the beginning of ep. 3. Also riding (man+him). Ep 4 is partly dark lit.
Pic 3 showing a very young boy in blue bibs in s16e16 (few scenes, mainly headshots). Pic 4 showing a blond boy in s20e16 (probably Michael LeClair, also in The Waltons s3e4, LHOTP and Family Holvak). His brown bibs are way too short (bib at low position). Rather few good scenes. Bibs often appear as pants with suspenders.
The complete series is now even available on 150 DVDs (manufacturing on demand, maybe DVD-r). Image quality should be 8/10, whatever that means. There is a different, regular release (up to season 10), not sure about that quality, probably better like the YouTube clips. But they are b&w either.

I also found 2 more Western movies with boys in bibs (coming soon). Unfortunately both are currently not available anywhere (just some pics/ lobby cards).
