I found by coincidence 2 books showing girls in bibs on the cover at a book blog.

Bibs only on older editions. The blog owner also shows 2 illustrations but none in bibs. So maybe it's just on the cover. I encountered bibs on the cover and illustrations but no mentioning in the text before. Review at her blog
