Update 2: Two Thoroughbreds

 

I have now completely watched this 1h movie at regular speed. There are even more scenes than first assumed, also in the 2nd half. Good standing scene at 7, a great kneeing scene and standing up at 16, then sitting on a fence, brief front view at 25 (pic 2). 

I struggled and wasn't sure if I should give rating 6 or 7. I first thought rating 6 is enough. But then he wore another, I think 2 more pairs (starting at 40, pic 1, also rear view), first a dark pair with patches (knees and rear below seat), low back and white seams. At 42 even riding in those including mounting and demounting. But after that other clothes.

At 43 (pic 3) a rear view looking exactly like the rear of the dark pair but not that dark. So is probably another pair. I'm not sure about the brands. 2 bib pockets on pair one (right one removed), there are many similar 30s/20s ones, maybe Super Big Mac or Stronghold. The other pairs with one small pocket maybe Boss of the Road or Levi's.  

I now give rating 7. Could be rating 8 if in better quality or even in color. I hope for a remastered version or official DVD. Plot is a typical boy animal plot of these days (horse or dog) but not that bad.

Next to 2 shops selling inofficial DVDs, I found via Google the movie on a site starting with no o (a bit like pastabook). I didn't had the time yet to watch the full movie but at several places. Many good scenes in the first half. Sitting down, milking, good rear views, sliding down a rope etc. Very handsome. Rating at least 6 was correct, maybe 7. The dad wore bibs with the bib pocket removed. Update: I later gave rating 7. Also riding and sitting and another pairs.

Update: Sune i fjällen, ratings criteria

 

After finding the tiktok clip (pic 1, correct name should be Hugoson) during research for Hakan Brakan (2022) (other boy rating 4), I have rechecked this movie. Felix would give rating 8-9 for "perfect" actor and bibs. He looked more cool and older in pic 1 and I hoped for more scenes.

I think there are just 2 brief scenes. One starting at 1 sitting in audience but partial view/headshot, later standing. The 2nd and only notable but brief scene is at 9 (pic 2) including walking rear view. Very brief and quite disappointing. Bib at low position, young boy. I also don't like the fabric/color. But the main con is his age. So rating 3-(4) was correct for me. There are also snow coveralls and maybe snow bibs like this lady at 15 (closer at 18). I haven't checked more of those.

Felix and I often have different ratings (a partial comparison list here). Recently L'instit. Maybe he mainly rate the actors? Rating 8-9 is higher or same level as (his and my ratings) of Kidsongs, The Sugar Creek Gang, The Dinosaur Hunter, The Nature of Nicholas, etc. I wonder how he would rate The Waltons and what is his favourite actor and season. And how he would rate the movies with (just) ladies.

An average rating of 5 for me should have an actor/actress at least aged ~10-11 (and not younger looking), at least one longer scene, or 2 long scenes including one rear view, bib not at low position, and I prefer US or CDN actors/settings, long bibs and not too tight. Younger kids, fewer scenes, low back, shortalls etc are usually rating 4 or less.

A good sitting scene (not distance) is usually rating 7 or up. Farm setting, farm work, more actors, other actions, (un)dressing, wet etc. gain bonus points. Yes of course, it depends on the actors. As I prefer males, ladies and girls usually have a lower rating. I prefer baggy or raw denim and long pairs on ladies as well. Maybe others should add +1 or +2 on my ratings for females. I try to give an objective rating for females but compared to other movies. I should give ratings for actors and movies as well but It's too late for change them all, but I mention them in the posts. 

Sometimes I'm unsure about my ratings. Like Rascal. (Bill Mumy is quite old, low back, but a good cycling scene). Or The Music Man (1962) perfect but very brief scene(s).

–Comment: 2 brothers in bibs (not together so not for my siblings list) played by different actors each set in the 50s and 60s. So at least 3 different actors. Most scenes are about the young boy in the 50s (unpictured) like at 45. The best scene of the young boy is at 1h28 (pic 2 aged ~10). I only noticed one scene of the older boy at 1h23 (pic 1) sitting distance, standing up, also partial views front+rear but rear dark lit and very brief.

Not sure about the actors. There are 10 kids, I think 6 brothers played by at least 12 actors. Trevor Morgan played 16 yo Bruce (not in bibs). (I first assumed the young boy being Jake Scott as 11 yo Bruce and the older one Erik Knudsen as 13 yo Rog. But probably that's wrong at least the younger boy.)

Bruce 16+11, Dick 16, Rog 17+13, Mike 13+10+6, Dave 7+4+baby, Bub 15 yo.

One (probably the younger) is obviously Evan Rose as 10 yo Mike (short hair, and earlier Ryan Price as 6 yo Mike). 13 yo Mike is Brendan Price. (And the older boy maybe Jake Scott as 11 yo Bruce? Or is the younger boy Connor Sharp (Dave 7+4 yo?). At least later he had longer hair.)

I currently assume the older boy being Michael Seater as 15 yo Bub or less likely 13 yo Rog or even lesser 11 yo Bruce?

2 good but brief scenes. Rating ~4-5. Too brief scene of the older boy.

Update: Also a man in working coveralls at 1h01.

 

To Kill a Mockingbird (2017+2012 HCT play) Utah/Arizona, 2011 LA play

 

Felix commented on my post about different To Kill A Mockingbird plays. Thanks for your comments! I tried to find the source of my first pic via Google Lens (drag&drop image by image search) but without success. But I found several other great plays. Another scene headshot of the girl at 16. Obviously also orange shortalls or a more likely a dress due to simple straps (IMDb) I missed. And a man in dark blue coveralls.

Found by coincidence. Movie also has animations. Typical camp movie mixed with Woodpecker. 

I like camp movies. And Woody Woodpecker. But not this one. Very poor. Some shorts. But few good other scenes as well and no or few handsome actors.

–Comment: As announced Naomi Watts in blue bibs but 2 very brief and partial scenes, one is dark lit showing a bit more (rear) so this is even the best. At 39/40. Better is the publicity pic/behind the scenes on IMDb. Also a very young blonde kid, obviously 8 yo Eden Grace Redfield ("Andi Mack") looking much younger, but 2 very brief scenes as well. One sitting outside on stairs painting rear view distance at 39 and one standing behind another person at 35. Also starring Charlie Shotwell (Captain Fantastic) but not in bibs.

At least there are two recommendations on IMDb with ladies: Hillbilly Elegy (2020) and Remembering (2022 short film).

First considered rating ~6, but for these very brief and partial scenes rating ~2-(3).

There are 2 photos of Eden in blue bibs and red shirt on a bike on IMDb. Not sure from which movie. There's a great sitting scene with her showing bibs are long and wearing boots. Might be just publicity pics.

Another suggestion from Felix. Thanks very much! I haven't found the full movie. Pic is from YouTube "Klipp 3". So needs to be re-checked later. Not to be confused with the 2003 series / Christmas calendar (Julkalendern), the 2024 sequel or a 2004 movie. Also related is the "Sune" series as that is the older brother of Hakan. And Familjen Andersson (2023) and maybe more movies/series.

In "Hakan Brakan 2" Mario also starred but probably not in bibs. There's at least a man in blue bibs with a wheelbarrow (seen in the trailer) and I think a young boy in olive coveralls and another boy in working bibs or coveralls. First I thought that Hakan wore blue coveralls but it's just a matching shirt with belt (scout uniform).

I have some posts about Sune. In Sunes Jul there's another boy as 7 yo Hakan in bibs, rating 4. Best is a 17 yo teen girl in Sunes familie, rating 6. 2 other movies f/m currently without pics as rating 3. "Sune i fjällen" with Julius Jimenez Hugoson as Hakan is maybe better than thought and needs to be rechecked as well. Currently rating 3, poor pic re-uploaded for now.

Update: Captain Fantastic (2016)

 

I have re-checked this movie (but not the full movie at regular speed). The teen girl wears rather shorts with suspenders. There's another very brief scene at 54 when standing up from a table, I think it's a dress or maybe colorful shortalls with an apron. Also a scene at 59 (headshot, showing suspenders).

Pic 1 of the main post with the fur on the bib turns out to be a dress. Next to the dark lit scene and the other scene, the scenes at the end are the best. I think it's now the boy (shorter hair) wearing the tan bibs of the girl (also full view but I want to show the girl as well). Pic at 1h50.

Rating 3(-4) was correct. Too few good scenes and very young kids.

I also have checked The Glass Castle (2017). Unfortunately very few and brief scene. Considering rating 6 now rather 2-3. Coming soon.

Has been aired yesterday at the same time as Head Full of Honey. So I missed most of it but by coincidence I've noticed this brief scene at 33. As it wasn't scheduled (due to Soccer) it's not linked inside the ZDf mediathek but full movie is luckily there (available for 1 year) and can be found by a Pilcher search.

I haven't checked the full movie at slow speed but I think no or maybe few more scenes. Ep 155.

Rating ~5-(6). Could have been higher if had more scenes, sitting etc.

She also starred as kid in Tom Turbo in several episodes (probably not in bibs).

I currently have 3 other episodes of this series (girl/ladies), rating up to 5.
