–Comment: Benjamin Bernouy shirtless and barefooted in light beige, almost white longer shortalls, 3/4th length. Many scenes, also sitting. Part of NBC Live Theater. There are also at least 3 other movies, 1952, 1958 and 1997 (which needs to be checked but most or all featuring shortalls as well, also b&w). And also stage plays and musicals in the 50s and probably today. 1946 novel by Carson McCullers and 1950 stage play.
I've just found it searching on YouTube. Great. Also good rear views, shortalls are tight. Main character is a 12 yo tomboy. John Henry is played by Corey Dunn (1988-2009) in the 1997 version, rating 4. 7 yo Brandon deWilde in the 1950 stage play and 9 yo in the 1952 movie.
Rating ~7-8. Maybe even 8.
Update: He's probably a bit younger than 10 but not 6 as in the novel. Also 2 crossdressing scenes, hat and later tutu. I also found some plays and the novel
