I checked some 80s editions (83-85) of the scouting magazine "Boy's Life" on Google Books and found this 1984 novel by Otto R. Salassi. Nice illustrations / paintings by Marvin Friedman. 13 yo boy(s), farm and hay scenes and an open bib. This adventure story is set in the 1950s and is about a rural Lousiana boy and his city cousin. At least one other novel with bibs scenes (same illustrator) and more drawings of boys in overalls in that magazine. Also many photos (color and b&w) of boys and teen boys of the 80s (including ads)(no overalls yet except for some fishing bibs). Good faces, shirtless and shorts pics.
Parts of the book and illustrations are in the edition March 1983, continued in April and May. The magazines are completetly watchable on Google Books.
The book seems quite rare. I haven't found any book covers on the web.
I recently have finish Sheriff Ben Danny book #4. No more scenes but one good description and one bed illustration. Another book ordered with confirmed bibs illustration. So only one missing.
And nothing more of interest yet in "The Home Ranch". Currently on page 94, so almost a 3rd.
