Brand #28: The Waltons - season 4 part 2

 

Disc 2 is even better concerning Jim-Bob's bleached pair. But I encountered many disc issues on discs 2-4. Some pics of disc 4 coming soon. On disc 5 John-Boy wore for the first time "real" overalls with a shield back and quite baggy. I didn't remember that. Great pair. I never liked his simple faded tight pairs (at least 2) with low back and Boss suspenders.

The pattern is liberty stripes as a close-up show when hunker down in red shirt. Pic 1 at 2h01, pic 2 at 1h40 even better front+rear. Double episode 18 The Burnout.

I searched a lot but haven't found all these exact features. I assume brand Hercules (pocket hole usually different on left \ or |) or maybe Sweet Orr. Liberty stripes were shown in Montgomery Ward catalogue (vest back) but also used by others including OshKosh. The style is vintage 30s/40s, 2 small bib pockets, one with a flap. The tag was removed on the right. The pocket watch hole "/" on right is quite rare and used by Sweet Orr, N&W, Go-Pfor, Hawk Brand and The Boss (Cohn) but usually the tag is elsewhere. I have to recheck the rear.

I think Zeb wore Sweet Orr (pointed pocket) in season 2 or 3. In season 4 he wore Big Smith (with tag).

During research I found 11 more brands/manufacturers: Baker, StoneCutter (Universal) Chicago (painters/carpenters), Powr House (Ward), Lion Brand, The Boss (Cohn), Capitol City, Comers Limited, Bill Couch's (WW Couch Co. Lynchburg, VA), Homespun (Pittsfield, New Hampshire), Red Diamond (St. Louis), redrock (Big Smith). Most of these vintage pairs are very rare.

Update: Rear has a long diamond (both Sweet Orr and Hercules had).

Updates: Silence of the North, Grill den Henssler

 

I have recently re-checked Silence of the North (woman rating 4). The short haired person (pic 2 on main entry) is not a teen boy but a lady. And I found one of the girls maybe in bibs with an open jacket (at 1h28). Also now on my other blog with both girls in sailor dresses (brief scene at the end rating 3).

Recent episode of "Grill den Henssler - season 21" was much better than assumed. Now confirmed to be Evelyn Burdecki in ep. 5. Bibs are tight, good rear views (although I prefer rather baggy bibs on ladies). Several scenes also close-up (front) while playing the "kitchen competition" game after cooking. She always wore bibs in the show but is not always shown. I have never seen the complete show. Are they also shown sitting when not cooking or playing? I don't like her voice and behavior but bibs are very good. Previously rating 3 now 5-6. I haven't made more caps.

Aka Hansel & Gretel - An Appalachian Version. The Davenport Films DVD featuring 2 other fairy tales. In total there are 11 fairy tales. In 2024 there is a 2 part re-release "The Brothers Grimm: American Folktales". This one is the first in this series.

I don't like much that actor. Short film, young actor, simple, worn pair, hickory stripes, no notable sitting scenes, few and poor to me rear views etc. Makes rating 5-(6) for me.

Felix was convinced that the red bibs (with blue belts, mainly on left) in Season 1 are Levi's. I also was quite sure due to the tag on the upper back. The front tag looked like letters something like Test or Jetix. Felix identified the famous "Two Horse" logo. That's usually on the waist tag, earlier out of leather and that is more squared and show the size.

If you close your eyes a bit it's better to see, especially on the lowest pic. There are several variants of that logo. On bibs it's usually thin blue on white, earlier yellow. I haven't found any bibs with that exact logo on front. Obviously there are just the horses without any text. Above and at the sides there's a frame or lines for stiching. The closest I found is on top left taken from a 515 (waist). I still haven't checked jackets. Maybe specially for youth pairs (70s).

Top left from season 18 is still unknown. Pointed like Carhartt but tag on left. 

Bottom right from season 10 are obviously Washington Dee Cee. I wonder why Dee Cee rather reads like Willy. Maybe there are folds (over or underneath).Same like on the others.

There are some other brands with a similar logo and pants in middle. Jelado has 2 pistols instead of horses. 3sixteen+ has to police cars and Oldblue Co. has 2 men. There's also an Asian version.

Story 153: Sitting rear view on benches, floor, truck - The Waltons

 

Sitting at a table usually not having good sights, neither front nor rear, maybe side view. The benches in The Waltons are great. Sometimes 2 or more next each other. I didn't recall much good scenes, though. Especially not on the opposite bench near the sink. Sometimes there are front views when standing up or sitting down. 

I recently noticed Ben and Jim-Bob sitting down. Also Jason and Mary Ellen sitting on floor and Mary Ellen and Jim-Bob. I also remember a good scene of Mary Ellen in season 1 (ep18 ?) standing up and turning. And Ben outside in hickory when smoking.

Amelia was born in Sep 2003 (? I haven't found a confirmation for her birthdate). All characters should be 11 yo (sentieridelcinema) and she's looking like that. The movie was completed and shown in Nov 2017 (Wikipedia) and at least parts at a museum were filmed in Feb/Mar 2017. (Not sure about all the movie). The actor of Kip was 12 then and I assumed 12 yo for her and now changed that to 13 and adding tag teen girls. Thanks Felix.

Searching for "Lantern Hill" for my sailor suit blog (girl, coming soon), I found some very good clips on the official Sullivan YouTube channel. (Behind the scenes with director Stefan Scaini). 8 minutes this clip. Unusual low camera positions, also hand at hips. I think this is from season 4 (or less likely season 3). Rating up to 8, rating 7 for season 4.

Brand #27: The Waltons - season 4

Disc 1 of season 4, my favourite season. Jason is much older and wore purple appearing I think Dee Cee. Jim-Bob wore a new, almost white appearing tight pair brand Key. These obviously were hickory striped but bleached. Fabric seems soft, great rear views (butt crack) and sitting scenes. The black appearing pair (season 3) was Key as well. Mary Ellen first wore her Key pair. Still quite dark stone washed (bottom left ep 4 at 2h30) rear see butt crack, but also her faded Can't Bust 'Em.

I found the full movie by coincidence on YouTube as recommendation. I think very few (good) scenes. So again rating ~4-5 only.

During research I also found teen films Suncoast (2024) and See You on Venus (2023), coming soon. I also have several more suggestions.

Brighton Hertford also starred in Finding Kelly (aka Mystery Kids, rating 6) one of the few entries still on my missing pics list. She's also an unlockable character (Brighton) in video game "Super Smash Bros. Tourney" in beige bibs or more likely dress/skirtalls next to others like the Olsen twins.

Obviously from season 5 (Funny Dinosaur Compilation) maybe s5e3. Pic 2 from Dinosaur Mischief. Shortalls with dots and leggins underneath and also with an apron. Probably S1e8.

Another suggestion. Thanks! I mainly found few but long compilations. Episodes are 2 minutes each. I later found myself on pics also a teen girl Bethan (Amelia May Elliott) in long rare bibs with a jacket in 2 episodes, in ep Picnic (s3e5) and Training s3e6 (pic 3).

I think rather few good scenes and the young girl often wore a dark blue dress (and rubber boots).

Rating ~4-5 for now.

 

Brand #26: The Waltons - season 3 part 4

I have completely finished season 3. Few new pairs.

CD 4 ep 15 a man in vintage dark pair, patch at rear pocket. Also ep 18 at 2h09.

CD 5 ep 17 Danny unknown vintage pair. Jason good in ep 18 at 1h44.

Jim-Bob in a very dark blue vintage almost black appearing pair in some episodes of the beginning of disc 6+7. Ep 20, 58, 1h24 CD 6, CD 7 beginning, 50, 57 as Cowboy also riding, 1h32 rear. Pic 1 from ep 21 CD 6 at 1h24. Also full view jumping here. Unknown brand. I have to recheck that. I think a tag on the rear. Unusual color. Update: The white appearing pair in season 4 is probably the same brand, maybe Key. Coming soon. Some pics here and here .

Pic 2 Jason rear view faded pair in CD 5 ep 18 at 1h44. Also putting hands in rear pockets but distance. Also showing Erin in her new dark cotton pair. I also have a front view here.
