I usually like comedy movies, but I don't like Oliver Pocher at all. He's quite funny, but I think the movie is even worse. Very brief good scenes. The boy is also very young.

Also starring Wolfgang Völz, Herbert Feuerstein and Anke Engelke. (I like all of these comedians, but this is just about overalls).

So rating 2-3 for now, movie probably not much more (Felix gave 4). Completetly on YouTube (but dubbed).

 

Info 236: I Have a Dream

Many movies mentioned here are about black people and/or relationships/friendships between black and white people. Pics I've chosen (and first thought about) coming from The Runaway (2000), rating 8. (Thanks Felix for the suggestion).

I'm still very busy and currently don't know how many entries I have about it. Mainly of Southern settings in the 30s and 40s. Even reaching back to my 1st entry "The Waltons" mentioning black boys in bibs and racism.

I'm still reading "To Kill A Mockingbird" (recently a minor but interesting update of Jem about wearing and don't wearing bibs).

Maybe I will create a tag or list for interracial content. (But it also has to be about m/m m/f and f/f, different age etc.). Most movies can be found by the tag farm or blog search for "black".

I don't want a political or religious discussion here. Remember this is just a personal movie blog and I will add all feature movies no matter what they are about or if I like a particular one.

The next entry I came across due to the stats was Tom Sawyer.

There are fewer movies including black women or girls or tomboys wearing bibs (in the 40s and are bout racism), but I do have some I remember.

I also have "Little Mister Jim" (1947) with an older Jackie (b&w, rating 4), Summer Holiday (1948), rating 5 and My Brother Talks to Horses (1947), b&w, rating 4.

I can't rate any higher than 4 for now due to his young age. Written and directed by King Vidor. Starring Brian Donlevy and Ann Richards.

Update: I only noticed this very brief scene in the middle of the movie. Also a young boy in a sailor suit (soon on my other blog, rating ~3).

I don't like these kind of action like movie. But nice actress. Also starring Helge Schneider, Dieter Pfaff (R.I.P.) and Sebastian Rudolph.

Rating 4-5 for now. Not to be confused with "Manta, Manta".

Probably I have seen this movie but can't remember it.

But I guess only few actors in bibs, maybe just these supporting actors in the background. Also starring boy actors (like Michael Angarano) and nice baseball scenes.

Rating 4-5 for now. Better clip quality on IMDb.

No idea if someone likes "older" women. This episode had been rebroadcasted today.

Very funny series about a German camping site. There is also an older teen girl (pictured on the far right) and a very young boy and maybe some other actors, but probably not in bibs. I used to watch this series in the late 90s, but I can't remember any others in bibs. At least men in barbecue aprons. Also men and young women in soccer shorts (s8e1) and swimwear.

Can't rate any higher than 2 for now. Series rating 5-6. Too few young actors.

Update: Also 16 or 17 yo Wolke Hegenbarth in light khaki bibs in s1e12. So now rating 6-7 instead of 2. Pic ep Der Wandertag.

Completely on Youtube, but I checked it some time ago. Several scenes, but only few of interest. Plot and movie is'n bad. Set in or near Oslo in the 1920s, but I also remember a barn scene. But I prefer US movies in color.

Rating 3-4. English title: "Boys From the Streets".

Book 27: To Kill A Mockingbird

Famous 1960 novel by Harper Lee. Pulitzer Prize.

I had to order a book to keep the shipping prize for a different product free. So I finally bought this one.

One of my favourite movies, rating 9, but in my TOP-10 for boys.

I previously read 2 non-bibs books and I'm still very busy.

Now, I'm on page 40 of 309 pages. 1997 Arrow Books edition.

The novel is obviously quite close to the movie or better vice versa.

2 brief bibs passages yet.

p 21: Decription of a barefoot boy (Walter Cunningham Jr.) sitting in the school house wearing "neatly mended overalls". Played by Steve Condit in the movie, but I have to recheck it.

p25:  Same boy touching his straps and hooks of his bibs, watched by Jem.

p 47: lady with straw hat and men's coveralls

p 60/64: fence/underpants scene but pants and later breeches were described (movie including close up is much better)

p 90: an aunt doesn't like Jem wearing bibs at home and prefer breeches. Jem talking about him wearing a dress. Very interesting (and not in the movie)

p 112: The girl Scout should wear a dress according to a neighboring woman "what are you doing in those overalls?". Jem just turned 12

p 168: men descirbed in overalls and denim shirts

Sorry, I'm still very busy and even have to expand my blogging pause. But I hope to make some posts in the meantime.

Update: I now have read more than half of it. No more bibs scenes yet. And the book is boring and I don't like it. The movie is much better. I think I will read something else in between, so it takes much more time for finishing this entry.

Update 2: Finally completely read.

At the end, last page 309, her dad unhooked and pulled the overalls of Scout off and put pajamas on.
