Info 1687: 16mm movies

As announced in my previous post about a playlist rating 9-10, there are other channels of interest. I first have checked most rare 16mm movies from "The Art of Film on 16mm". Most German movies like from FWU, some also appeared in famous 80s TV series. Also some foreign and US movies including documentaries. Also on my Lederhosen blog (some rating 8, smooth finished leather, also shiny shorts and sailor suits). Not sure if some or all are included on the Salopette playlist. Most not on IMDb.

Pic 1 from  "Meine Familie - deine Familie - Kinderheim Köln-Sülz (Germany 1980), many scenes, also sitting and standing up, also farm/hay bails. (FWU). Rating ~6.

Pic 2 showing a short haired girl in dark blue bubs called Maren from "Die Erde - ein Erlebnis" Germany 1993. Also on ladder. Several scenes rating ~4-5. FWU?

Pic 3 a girl in I think long turqouise bibs in Listen, Cindy (USA 1981). Brief scenes rating ~4.

I've got a suggestion from Laurent for his playlist on YouTube called Passion Salopette. Currently 354 clips (short clips and full movies). Great! Thanks very much! Mainly boys. Some new clips I would give rating 9 or 10. (Others I already have rating 10 like The Dinosaur Hunter (f/m)).

At a first sight I think I have less than half of them. But it includes music videos, plays etc. It will take severaly days to check.

Pic 1 taken from Harris and Me: Blake, Tori, Blake, Trevor. Great dark denim bibs and boots, Also great front view. Also a sitting scene. Rating at least 9. Maybe this is from a book by Gary Paulsen, I also own (my 2nd book post).

Pic 2 is taken from Tom Sawyer Project E.L.A. 2011. Red blue and white shirts. Also great sitting scene and also in water in bibs. Also some other Tom Sawyer plays. 

Most or all are not own uploads. So some other uploaders and playlists might be of interest as well. Like "The Art of Film on 16mm". I remember a similar channel but that got deleted. (But probably few bibs scenes in that). My recent source of "Schweigegeld" was from elsewhere. Otherwise I would have found that playlist myself.

2 ladies in bibs in show of November 30 (s6e5, guest Martina Hill). Pic 1 showing Martina Hill on right, dressed up like a girl, sitting in bibs. Also in 12 minutes clip: Die gemeinsame Vergangheit von Carolin Kebekus und Martina Hill.

Pic 2 showing another lady in a short musical clip (Girls don't fart) in the main episode. There are 3 other ladies singing, I don't remember who that is. Very brief scene at 19 minutes.

I previously had Carolin Kebekus herself in bibs also as a girl in purple bibs, rating (2)-3 now 3-(4).

-Comment: I think Larry Simms (1934-2009) in different shortalls, here hickory striped. Also in other early films of this series. Originally in b&w. I only found this colorized. Also shirtless at least in Blondie (1938), but then ~4 yo. There were several movies in this series 1938-1950.  I haven't checked them all. As he was getting older he didn't wear shortalls in later movies. There are also 2 later series. I haven't checked these.

Also in a sailor suit in Blondie Brings Up (1939) also with a boys choir in shorts and scarfes (scouts ?). Other blog rating 3.

Update: L'argent fait le bonheur

 

I now managed to make a real screenshot of the last scene at 1h04 (pic 2). I have installed updated codecs (I think it was the regular libav for linux). Obviously that disc (same product line) has a different copy protection as I hadn't issues with the other disc. Or the disc has more data (widescreen). The other pics are at 43/46, scenes 6, showing how low and baggy the bibs are worn when standing. And his heigth compared to other kids. And the main location outside. Probably local kids.

Scene 1 is similar. Scene 4 (standing inside shirtless with open bib) is partial, mainly showing his chest and parts of the bib. There is another scene near the end but from a distance (sitting on the floor inside).

I still haven't seen the other 2 DVDs. "Marius et Jeannette" I've already seen most online. (Man and lady in coveralls and young girls in shortalls, see Dernier été.) After the other "A l'attaque! (2000)", I think I try to check more from that director, mainly missing the 2000s.

-Comment: A boy in stone washed bibs, many scenes, often with the bib down, baggy, also shirtless. Bib at high position, overlapping straps. Also several scenes of a young man shirtless in white bibs. And an older man in blue coveralls mainly at 18.

This film is better than thought but the boy younger, not ~12 yo but ~10. Many good scenes. Cool, show-off. This is even more like a documentary, a portrait of different kids and their families. And a priest. Half of the movie is set in flats, the other in front of large buildings, suburb. 7 actors named Hamzaoui, probably relatives/siblings of the teen boy in Dernier été. 2 actors named like the director.

DVD is 16:9, PAL RC2, extra: short preface, no audio commentary. Obviously other copy protection like the other. I can't access >58 minutes on a PC, so pic 4 is a photo off a TV screen. English title:Money Makes Happiness.

Aired in series "Les mercredis de la vie" (31 ep). For the first DVD Dernier été (1981), teen boy rating 5 see that post. There are 2 more movies on the DVDs but I don't assume bibs scenes (Coveralls and young girl shortalls).

Now completely seen. 4 scenes of the teen boy and one of a lady (previously not known). The boy is older than thought, maybe 16 yo and not that handsome. I think it's also him in speedos at 25 min like in the trailer. Name Karim Hanzaoui is probably right. At the beginning there's the man in blue coveralls.

Scene 1 at 5: Brief scene mainly rear view (pic 2)

Scene lady at 29: Young thin lady in very tight red cotton bibs. Dancing alone (shaking her butt, close up rear) and later with a man front+rear but brief scenes

Scene 2 at 42: brief scene mainly rear view, one leg up and apart. Also walking bending forwards (rear view). I think at 44 he's walking rear view with the main character (I forgot to make caps) pic 4

Scene 3 at 1h04: playing Soccer with young kids on beach, rear+front

Scene 4 at 1h17 end: front view, smoking (see main post)

Although more scenes than assumed and some good rear views, I give now rating ~5-(6), previously 7. Rating ~3 for the lady.

DVD has perfect image quality. 4:3, French audio, no subtitles. Extras: Preface 4 minutes, audio commentary 1h30 documentary/interview. PAL RC2. The movie looks like a documentary about the people of a village. Great setting. Although I know French, I don't understand much (fast spoken, accent). But it's not neccessary much. The other movie I will watch today.
