The Crow: Stairway to Heaven

Crime TV series, 22 episodes
-Year: 1998-1999
-Year in film: 1990s
-Country: Canada
-Who in bibs: Sarah 13 , older teen girl
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Bib occurrence: medium ?
-Rating:  5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: Katie Stuart (pictured on left) and at least one other older woman/teen girl in blue bibs. Both pics from ep 4: Like It's 1999. Someone suggested this series some time ago, so I add this. Unfortunately I don't know/don't remember all episodes. I somehow don't like those dark action series. Based on the comic by James O'Barr. But Katie Stuart looks great like a tomboy (or a boy) with her cap (but has longer hair). Bib of the overalls are again very low or short like in series "The Magician's House" (see that entry). She also starred in "Summer of the Monkeys" and "Frog and Wombat" (see that entries, but I think there not in bibs). I have to check the complete series, rating 4-5 for now. Are there any better episodes with a better view of the bibs? There are also 4 related other The Crow films (but without Stuart).

Removed deleted vid. Addad tag teen girl.

Andre (1994)

Family film, girl + seal
-Year: 1994
-Year in film: 1962
-Country: USA
-Who in bibs: girl Toni ~ 9 ys
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Bib occurence: low ?
-Rating:  3/10
-Rating: ***
-Comment: Tina Majorino in blue bibs (pictured). I don't remember this complete film, but I think only few scenes and also with a jacket. Might be a good and touching family film (rated PG), after true story "A Seal Called Andre". Will be aired tomorrow, but I can't receive that channel. But I think there are better movies. Girl is very young, few bib scenes makes rating 3. She also starred in Santa Fe (1997) rating 5/10 and Corrina, Corrina (1994), 2/10, see these entries. She was nominated for a Young Artist Award. Directed by George Miller (The Neverending Story II, Zeus & Roxanne).

Paris, Texas

Drama by Wim Wenders
-Year: 1984
-Year in film: 1980s ?
-Country: Germany, F, UK, USA
-Who in bibs: Hunter ~ 9 ys
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Bib occurence: low ?
-Rating:  5/10 ?
-Rating: *****
-Comment: At least Hunter Carson (pictured) in blue (I think) shortalls. Thanks to Felix for suggesting this movie. I don't know this film and saw only some few parts recently. But I think only few or even just this one bib scene (while they were watching Super-8 films). After that his mom helped him undressing his bibs. (showing a brief shirtless scene). Film, setting and plot looks great and the film was nominated for a Golden Globe and Carson for a Young Artist Award. Also starring Nastassja Kinski and Dean Stockwell. Also other US kids of the 80s in jeans.

I have to check this complete film and hope for a soon broadcasting. But for bib scenes I can only rate 5 for now. I don't like the bibs and he's also very young. Carson is American, though tagged this German film non-USA. Film is 147 min. and rated R. I like him in "Invaders From Mars" (1986).

Captiva Island

Family film starring Ernest Borgnine
-Year: 1995
-Year in film: 1990s ?
-Country: USA
-Who in bibs: girl Sam ~ 14 ?
-Available on DVD: VHS only
-I own: no
-Bib occurrence: medium ?
-Rating:  5/10 ?
-Rating: *****
-Comment: At least one teen girl in blue shortalls (pictured, must be Amy Bush ? also not sure about her age). Another one which I will put on my rare movie list. I don't know/don't remember this independent film and couldn't find any clips webwide. Main character is teen boy Jesse Zeigler (on left). Perhaps a good family film (rated PG). I hope for a soon broadcasting and will check and update this as soon as possible. Pic is part from an Italian theatralic poster which has slightly other colors. Obviously only released on VHS. If someone knows this film please comment. Shortalls look not so bad. Rating 5 for now.

Tri karte za Holivud

Family film / comedy
-Year: 1993
-Year in film: 1962 ?
-Country: Yugoslavia
-Who in bibs: boy ~ 12 ys ?
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Bib occurence: low ?
-Rating:  3/10
-Rating: ***
-Comment: One shirtless boy in blue shortalls fishing (pictured). Name and exact age unknown, might be older. One other boy in shorts and one ~7 yo without any clothes. But nothing special.

I have seen most parts of this film on YouTube but don't noticed any other actors in bibs and no other scene than his short one pictured. Lots of historical clothing, uniforms and kids with red scarf. Maybe one of the best scenes for me is this clip I have chosen (no bibs there). Perhaps rather something for my sailor suit blog.
But I don't like this film nor shortalls. But can't rate any lower than 3 and not any higher. International title: "Three Tickets to Hollywood". Directed by Bozidar "Bota" Nikolic ("The Dark Side of the Sun").

Eine Liebe in Königsberg

TV romance starring Wolfgang Stumph
-Year: 2006
-Year in film: 2000s
-Country: Germany
-Who in bibs: Iris ~ 48 ys
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Bib occurence: low ?
-Rating:  2/10
-Rating: **
-Comment: I think Suzanne von Borsody in blue bibs (pictured). If I remember it correctly the bibs are rather tight and small/short (about 7/8 th length).

I saw this film by coincindence as my TV was still running after marathon watching yesterday. Usually I don't like and watch those romances. I missed the beginning of it, but definitely no bib scenes in the second half. I don't like neither film nor actress, but perhaps someone else does. Rating 2 only, sorry. The film had even been released on DVD which is quite uncommon for those TV romances. But this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Without Stumph it would had been even worse. Plot might be good, or perhaps I'm not old enough.

It Takes Two (1995)

Family film starring Kirstey Alley + Olsen twins
-Year: 1995
-Year in film: 1990s
-Country: USA
-Who in bibs: Amanda, Alyssa ~ 9
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Bib occurrence: low ?
-Rating:  6/10  ?
-Rating: ******
-Comment: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (pictured), one in light blue shortalls, and one in full length bibs. Shortalls are tight (also shown from behind) and other bibs are a bit baggy.
Also a man, one Olsen girl (sitting) and other older kids (also boys)  in dirty medium blue coveralls (also great).

I thought about these twins earlier and now watching this film on TV. Unfortunately I missed the beginning and also can't record the rest of it as I'm recording something else. But I only saw some few scenes with them in bibs/shortalls by now. A lot of other kids at a camp in white aprons and a woman (Alley?, see trailer) in a different apron. Haven't seen any other actor in bibs. But I like the Olsen twins (though very young here). Twins in different bib styles are great. Also funny how they first met each other and collide in the woods. I have to check this film again and will also add other films with them soon. For this rating 6 for now. Riding scenes, but not in bibs. They won a Blimp Award, film rated PG.

Update: Sitting in faded bibs, adding tag sitting F

Die Knickerbockerbande (1997)

Kids detective series, 14 episodes + film
-Year: 1996-1998
-Year in film: 1990s
-Country: Austria, Germany
-Who in bibs: girl Poppie ~ 14
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no, partly TV recording
-Bib occurrence: low ?
-Rating:  4/10  ?
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Christina Karnicnik (pictured) in orange full length bibs. Pic is from episode 11 "Im Reich des Geisterzaren" which I saw today by coincidence. I don't know all episodes yet, but she doesn't wear bibs in ep 12 "Das Phantom der Schule". I think I have seen there another teen girl in light blue bibs in the background (short scene, not sure if really bibs).
I also saw a publicity pic with Poppie in light pink bibs (or shortalls) but not sure in what episode and if really in any. Also a girl with blond pigtails.

There must be 14 episodes ("Spuk am Sternenhof" is missing at IMDb) and a 1994 film "Die Knickerbocker-Bande: Das sprechende Grab" (with other actors). Famous childrens book series by Thomas Brezina. Typical detective series, 2 boys, 2 girls but with Austrian kids. Could be better (see Blyton). I think few bib scenes. Rating 4 for now.

I only found one DVD with 4 episodes and some VHS tapes available. I thought that I've seen different DVDs in a shop about 2 EUR each, but maybe this was a different series. I always wondered about the name of the gang. They don't wear knickerbockers. Update: Full series is now available on DVD.

Update: Also blue bibs. New pic 1 from Das sprechende Grab. But obviously few good scenes. Also soon on my Pigtails blog.

Update 2: The 1994 movie seems very interesting. Rating ~6 for now. post exists

Es geschah am hellichten Tag (1997)

TV remake of 1958 thriller starring Joachim Król
-Year: 1997
-Year in film: 1990s ?
-Country: Germany
-Who in bibs: Annemarie ~ 10
-Available on DVD: yes (both)
-I own: no
-Bib occurrence: medium ?
-Rating:  5/10  ?
-Rating: *****
-Comment: This remake starring Judith Thayenthal ~10-11 yo in light blue and dark blue bibs and blond pigtails. Also starring Joachim Król, Heino Ferch and Monica Bleibtreu. Have to check and update if this is also being aired. Update: Brand is Lee. Thanks Felix!

I found this by coincidence. Tomorrow, the original version aka "It Happened at Broad Daylight" is coming on German TV starring Heinz Rühmann and Siegrid Lowitz. I will watch it but don't expect bib scenes there. Many other good films tomorrow (but I don't think with bibs). For those see my other blog.
One film with bibs tomorrow (RTL II, 6:10 h) is "The Thirteenth Year" rating 6/10 with girls/teens in bibs and shortalls. Only available on VHS, see that entry.

Brink! (1998)

Disney skating film
-Year: 1998
-Year in film: 1990s
-Country: USA
-Who in bibs: Katie ~ 9 , other woman, teen girl
-Available on DVD: VHS only?
-I own: no, partly TV recording
-Bib occurrence: low ?
-Rating:  5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: Katie Volding (pictured) in light blue baggy shorter bibs. Maybe they are shortalls and a bit oversized or she's just to small for them. Also at least one other woman/teen girl in bibs or shortalls (or maybe it's an apron, pic below with black sleeveless shirt). Maybe also a woman in white shortalls (brief scene of supporting actress), but might be just a shirt and shorts. A lot of people in the background watching the contest, so maybe more but most scenes at the end of film are fast action scenes while skating and hard to tell, except if seen frame by frame. I also saw later a pic with a teen girl of the skating gang in long medium blue bibs and sleeveless red shirt (long darker hair, but with a helmet), but I missed that and have to update this later. This might be 17 yo tomboy Christina Vidal.

Sorry, I missed most parts of this film and can't say if any more actors and the amount of bib scenes. Girl (playing sister of main character "Brink" (Erik von Detten, top pic on left) is very young. I also don't like those fast action skating movies nor von Detten. I have to check this film again next broadcasting, but can't rate any higher than 4-5 for now. I think not yet released officially on DVD (only VHS). No trailer.

There's another girl skating in long bibs.
