Pinocchio (1997 Athens play OCAF)

 

As announced a play that I found (uploader vhsordie who also uploaded the great Tom Sawyer 1997, rating 6). Same boy David Weber. Clip "Pinocchio - Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation at OCAF Center [8 -6-97]" 53 minutes. Uploaded 1 month ago. For an unknown reason (obviously due to the space in the brackets before "-", that would exclude it) this can't be found by a Google or even YouTube search. So one has to check the channel vhsordie or remove the date. Laurent had added 2 other Pinnochio plays (I think with grown-ups only).

At least 4 boys and at least 2 girls. Pinocchio Gepetto pic 2 on left sometimes wears a red apron over bibs but later removed that. Pinnocchio is Maria Moody. There's also a boy in oversized yellow non-jeans bibs, another one in orange ones and a chubby older girl in faded shortalls (unpictured as Blue Fairy?). 2 or 3 others in shortalls or similar.

Interesting, my first Pinnochio play.

Rating 4-5. I first considered rating 4. But many scenes and many actors, so rating 5.

Handsome boy (David Weber), good bibs. Sitting and kneeing at 41. Singing with girl at 35. Hand in pockets and pic 2 at 18. One leg up and rear view at 38. Bibs a bit baggy.

Rating ~6, maybe my next favourite play from that list. I first consider rating 5 or 5-6, now maybe 6-7. Most or all others are rather weak rating 3-4. Unfortunately I don't have the time to watch them all completely. I wonder if Laurent has.

Dream #15: The Waltons new behind the scenes

In the dream I did research for my blog. As usual, everything look different, my room, display (larger) and even the websites. I found 2 large photos 2.4k, both the inside of a classroom. In one pic one boy sitting in bibs on right, side view facing right, the other showing him sitting front in the middle but from a distance. I zoomed and searched for others.

I also found a behind the scene clip showing the school on top of a mountain (Blue Ridge, but could also be in Canada, and maybe not Depression setting). Although school and actors looked different, I was convinced, that it's The Waltons. Due to the quality, I assumed it's the bonus on a Blu-ray. I was about to blog, but then want to be sure and did research.

Conclusion: Maybe the dream wants to tell me not to forget to check the 2022 remake A Waltons Thanksgiving (more similar), or When Calls the Heart. Or maybe general to continue blogging. I had 2 more, unrelated dream scenes (amusement park) after that, another proof that it's possible to continue dreaming. The only similar sitting side view I recently had on Dhar Mann (teen girl, not posted yet).

Great series, mainly school setting and handsome younger and older kids.

Update 2: Children's Ward (1989)

 

A very young girl as announced in s2e9 (pic 2) and a blonde teen girl in s9e5. I only noticed headshots, there are white parts at the straps and at the bib, I assume shortalls. I have briefly checked all episodes up to season 9 (including). It's possible that I miss scenes. Another girls I think in bibs-like dresses in s9e4 (black), s9e3 (blue) and s2e1 (latter one colorful cotton).

Brand #38: The Waltons - season 7

 

The last season of interest, rating 9. Here discs 1+2. Again playing issues (CD 1 but this time I really have scratches). Jim-Bob and Elizabeth including dancing CD 1 at ~1h08 (ep 2). Elizabeth in Dee Cee. Not sure about Jim-Bob as missing the flap on the bib pocket. Maybe a new pair, but maybe the same pair as in season 6 but more faded. Probably the hickory striped pair (Lee) is also the same CD 2 ~1h52. At least different shirts and a fresh haircut (much better than the 70s one).

Elizabeth also alone, some good scenes like climbing up a ladder to the tree house CD 2 ~1h12. Maybe her pair is new. (Appearing darker than on crutches/wheelchair but inside).

There's another little girl in bibs (ballet school) but briefly and from a distance. On CD3 is Josh in a medium blue pair and a teen boy. I'm still watching that disc. Later again Clarence.

Most pics I already had also great rear views and sitting scenes of Jim-Bob. I have also fixed the links of these updates in the season 7 post.

In a commercial reel (Generation Wild) on IMDb, she wore medium brown bibs (younger age ~7).

Rating 3-(4). I first assumed the beige dress being a long pair or shortalls. So in fact just a very brief scene of the green pair. So only rating 3 or less. Surprisingly a quite high rating on IMDb (7.3). Seems a typical boring movie to me.

 

Tom Sawyer — A Treasured American Tale (2018 Redlands, CA play)

 

And another nice play from the new playlist. Clip "TOM SAWYER 2018 trailer - LifeHouse Theater". Different older boys in different pairs. Tom with a straw hat. Trailer is 0'59". Maybe one of the best ones from the playlist. The previous one (2014 Matthews Elementary), I think was the best one. Another one, I already had (2003 Marietta, GA play) rating 5.

They also have To Kill A Mockingbird (2015) with a girl in bibs (not on the playlist).

I don't like much Tom Sawyer here, but I assume good scenes (in the full play), so rating ~(4)-5. For the trailer maybe 4.

Dennis the Menace: A Kid's Story (2023 parody)

 

Another one from the new playlist. In folder trailers (Bande A.). There are trailers and clips of movies (I would put all those in a folder called film). I have briefly checked some. Most or all are new links/clips. But I think I have most of these.

I fist thought that this would be a new feature film as it looks quite professional and is in the trailer folder. This is a school project Central Cass Elementary School, North Dakota Council on the Arts. Shorter school projects are usually in folder short film. Longer ones/plays in Théater. Trailer 2'14". Uploader The Film Dudes. CC licence.

I assume many scenes. I don't like much this actor. Maybe there are also girls in bibs or shortalls?

Rating ~5-6. As it's quite short I give rating 5. 3 boys are smaller, the one in dark bibs much taller. Also all wearing straw hats.

I only have checked this briefly. I don't like non-jeans working bibs, especially not orange (dustbin removal), but could be worse. Maybe some scenes are good, at least sitting scenes. 5x20 minutes. Pic from ep 2 at 10.

To Kill A Mockingbird (2017 Illinois play)

 

Another pic of the play from the new playlist (another pic there). Varsity Center for the Arts, Illinois. Presented by Wildflower Inc. Uploader anglface1982. Not sure if it's a boy or girl on left in Dickies. Also sitting. There's also another version, I think in sepia.  This is just a trailer. 1'19". Rating ~4-5.

This one is in the playlist folder short films (Court Métrage).  Yesterday, I have checked all the long clips of the plays (folder Théatre, almost all are Tom Saywer and To Kill A Mockingbird) and made ~30 caps. Obviously all links/clips at least there are new. 2-3 maybe the same as in the last playlist.

Most plays are ~2h. So I only have checked them briefly and it's possible that I missed good scenes. But ~half of them are in very poor image quality (80s, fixed camera, distance view, etc and usually the actors/bibs are also poor, I think I just found one of interest), some clips are unavailable in Germany, some just have men, etc. 

So like before, I will just post a selection of my favourite ones. But as I'm running out of boy movies this will be ~20-30 (maybe a third) and probably there will be more clips. Thanks Laurent for your work!

Great news! Laurent has revived his YouTube playlist (new link). Now with separate chapters like theater, short films, TV series, music, animation, trailers, commercials etc.

Currently 146 clips in film which also contain long clips of series.

And 114 in TV series.  Latter one 46 clips not available (in Germany), currently some few series like Dennis the Menace and Cebollitas.

Next to the boys in season 1 (rating up to 5) I found at least Jaeda Lily Miller (*2006) in light brown cotton bibs in different seasons, 11, 10 and I think also earlier. Pic from the summary in s11e9 (2024). Also riding in s9e5. Some more pics on IMDb. The recent 4 seasons, I found on Daily, but most others got deleted. The pupils seem the same in seasons 9, 8, and maybe 7, so I doubt that there are more (good) scenes. In 2018 I've mainly checked seasons 1-4.

Update: Polly (1989)

And another rating 4 re-upload. Remake of the 1960 Pollyanna Disney movie (rating 5). At least Brandon Quintin Adams ~9 yo in light blue and light brown non jeans bibs latter one at 1h01 (mainly rear view standing). Pic at 15 also full view, walking. 

I have briefly again checked the full movie. 2 brief scenes only. The 1960 movie is much better.

Update: Children's Ward (1989)

 

I've started to check the full series. Several episodes are missing on YouTube, (s4+s6) and s5 completely. There are different playlists, single seasons and combined like s3-s11. S6 is missing there but has a separate one (with few episodes). I've currently checked up to season 7 (including). Season 6 episodes titled Children's Ward 1993.

Rating 4/5 re-upload. Ukrainian movie, 2001. Teen girl and teen boy in bibs. Girl sometimes with bib down. I had everywhere rating 4 (tags, A-Z list) but in the text rating 5-6. I always copy the info text, but previous post was also 5. Probably I changed my mind and gave rating 5. Although few good scenes of this boy.

I had one other pic with the girl sitting on the street (bib up, background) and 2 shirtless boys in regular jeans.

Post from Dec 2013. So I will soon finish rating 4 re-uploads. Not sure if I continue with rating 3. Probably.
