Brand: Lee: models and types of stripes

 

I searched for the different models from Lee. One of my favourite brands. Easily to detect with a short thin diagonal (/) stich in the middle of the bib. Jason Walton wear some. The b&w parts are from a catalog (not Lee) having Liberty stripes. The small color part is from JC Penney. Lee info from the Lee Overall Time Book, I found here

The standard, non-striped overalls are "91". Jelt denim was introduced in 1925. On the far right the regular fabric (click to enlarge and see the right). There's -LB and SB, low back and shield back. I think before 1925 the tag reads Union Made. Made by Lee, with a large red size number. Striped models:

96 Pin Stripes, 97 Express Stripes, 98 Hickory Stripes. I assume hickory stripes were most common. I also found corduroy bibs appearing striped as well.

Another early model was Whizit with a long zipper.

Acqusitions:

Can't Bust 'Em. Originally by ELOESSER-HEYNEMANN & CO. (founded 1876) bought in 1946 by Lee. Mary Ellen Walton used to wear some.

Boss of the Road. Originally by C.B. Cones & Son Company (1860s) bought in 1952. (I only found some with a small pocket, maybe in The Waltons (Mary Ellen season 1 and To Kill A Mockingbird (Jem)).

There also were Union All Coveralls, "Lee Uniform" overalls and Lee painters overalls (white).

And modern models like Lee 101 overalls and Lee Heritage (77/60 % cotton). Regular jeans are Riders and jackets have smaller numbers.

I think Ben Walton wore hickory striped bibs in s3e1 also shirtless.
