-Comment: One young, black boy in faded bibs with overlapping straps. Sitting (in Sunday school) and also walking outside. Few scenes at the beginning. Rural setting. Based on an 1928 novel and 1930 play.
There are also 2 related 1950s tv movies in color (both Hallmark Hall of Fame), but I haven't seen those.
