Good ranch and rodeo family film with a talking Mule. Unfortunately only these bibs scenes with the young kids, so only rating 2 for that.

I don't know this new movie as it's just in the cinemas. Good and funny plot about this village, good dialect language.

I don't know the complete movie (won a Golden Globe) and only saw a short clip. It covers the years 1934-1963 of Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th US president. So I assume few bibs scenes at the beginning only. It's only available officially on a OOP VHS only (in 2 parts) or for paid streaming . 155 minutes.

Update: The Brady Bunch

I had The Brady Bunch Movie (1995) on my rare movies list. After checking several clips I only found 26 yo Jennifer Elise Cox (pic 2) in A Very Brady Sequel (1996) in this red bibs-like dress with bibs-like straps (hidden under hair and arm), also cycling.

From my rare movies list and currently on YouTube (dubbed). 1970 novel by Rod Serling. This is a remake of a 1970 TV movie starring Peter Ustinov (Hallmark Hall of Fame production) but I haven't seen that one.

Unfortunately I only noticed this short scene at 17 minutes. I still have the outdoor pool scene on VHS. Emmy and Young Artist Award.

Quite good movie and plot, but due to the few bibs scenes (what is quite unusual for an Hallmark movie, see my list), rating 2 only. It's about a friendship between an old Jew and a 10 yo boy set in New York during the Vietnam War, I think in 1969.

Story 96: Overalls cuts, shapes, rear view, quiz

Yesterday I saw the 3rd season of Lost in Space (1965) with the interesting shiny silver coveralls (f/m).That inspired me to this post. There seem to be different styles of overalls.

I know that men and women have different body shapes and there are people who are overweighted or very tall or wearing baggy bibs.

Nowadays there are probably special overalls designed for females but I doubt that that was the case in the 1930s or 1940s where overalls were mainly for men. And different brands have probably different styles. Maybe Felix has a better knowledge of different brands (on the same person).

But suppose that a person has an average height, weight, body shape and don't wear them too baggy. I wonder why there are so many different results. And is it easy to identify if it's a male or female? With preteens it's proably much more difficult.

Some overalls appear pointed at the bottom, others are in the crack.

Maybe I find more characteristics to create more tags to have better search results.

Although I had checked most or all of the Kidsongs vids, I found this one. The TV shows have additional scenes kid hosts and guest stars. The Kidsongs vids showing overalls, I already knew. One good western vid (+hosts+ woman) on my western blog and one girl in a different vid coming soon. The boy is called Chris Aguilar (or similar).

Yesterday, I searched again for 80s movies and found some more new movies. I remember watching this movie then and only remember the young boy (Scooter Stevens, I still have that on VHS) at the table. Some funny scenes (cooking moving tentacles).

Somehow I like those rare bibs, although I prefer real jeans bibs, raw denim, farm movies and the like. What else to say? The movie is good, but there are even much better ones of the 80s. I will recheck it more carefully next broadcasting.

Book 48: Zachary Ball: Bristle Face

I bought this novel in German as the English editions are rare and expensive. It was first published in 1962, 2 years before the Disney movie starring Phillip Alford (rating 7, pictured).

Typical sad story about an orphan and his dog set in 1920s Mississippi. As I haven't seen the complete rare movie except for a small clip, I now have the complete plot. Though nothing special. I think no need for a summary which can be found elsewhere. There is also a sequel called Sputters. The book is compared to the classics like Old Yeller and Where the Red Fern Grows (also made into movies, see those entries here).

Unfortunately only one brief mentioning that the boy puts something in his overalls pocket, and some men in overalls.

The German edition have some illustrations by Werner Bürger (who even worked with Pierre Joubert). The rough b&w sketches seem to be made from coal showing him often in overalls, also the widow.

I have to re-read the book and recently found the full movie. The cover illustration (German publisher Ravensburger) is completely different showing the boy in dark hair and the dog in orange.

The 2nd and last Christian movie I found. Bestselling novel by Margery Williams. The movie is a combination of live-action and animated scenes. The animated Toby also wears blue bibs. Live-action scenes filmed in 2000. Directed by Michael Landon Jr.. Also starring Jane Seymour.

I found a stream online (under the French title). Scenes at 46 minutes but I haven't seen all of it. Obviously a very early setting (around 1900 or 1910). There are also at least 3 other movies including live-action scenes (1984+1985+short 2007) but I haven't seen them yet.

I started to search for alternative movies and sources and started with Christian movies (I even found one other movie with bibs and 2 interesting ranch movies for my western blog, coming soon). Christian movies often show traditional farm and ranch settings.

This movie looks in some parts very close to The Sugar Creek Gang movies (rating 10). Nice canoe and creek scene, even filmed in Georgia as well. Although the school seems British to me.

I can't say much more yet and assume very few bibs scenes as the main kids don't wear any. Pics taken from a trailer (on IMDb).

I haven't seen the complete movie but I assume rather few (good) scenes. She's not part of the family but obviously Sune's girl friend or dream girl during the vacation in Italy /Europe/Tyrol. English title: The Anderssons Hit the Road: Almost Millionaires.

Update: Hidden Places

I recently have checked this 2006 movie on YouTube, 4 years after my post. Next to the girl and woman (35 yo Sydney Penny, pic 2) there are also men and a boy in bibs (previously no pics of the boy). His bibs are hickory striped (was also not tagged). Movies with boys, girls, men and women in bibs are quite rare (I only think of The Waltons). I think most scenes with the woman in bibs.

Previously rated 5 and maybe this is OK. Set in the 1930s.

Book 47: Body measurements of American boys and girls for garment and pattern construction

A comprehensive report of Measuring procedures and statistical Analysis of Data on 147,000 American Children. By Ruth O'Brien and the United States Departement of Agriculture (1941). Price 60 cents.

Not directly overalls related this study but kind of. For everyone who wants to make his or her own overalls. Unfortunately no sewing patterns. Many tables and a list and description of what and how to measure. Also a questionnaire. I wonder why the names of the siblings, the income and thelike are of interest for measuring. Is this all for the industry? There is also a different study up to the recent years on how the growth changed. Some measurements are also important if you want to have tight or baggy pants.

Info 364: Monthly stats

As the all-time stats rarely changes I made a monthly TOP 5, also added on my right coloumn. I think there is no automatic function unlike on my old blogspot blog. The top post&pages are gathered from the last 2 weeks (with a delay).

I also made a pic of the yearly stats (note that 2015 is still incomplete). It's also possible to view stats of each day and even of any single post. But most posts have occasionally just one or two hits a day. Older posts, top posts, updates and fresh posts of course have more hits.

Interesting that the A-Z list had up to 177 hits a month in the summer 2013, later again just very few. Either one person worked with it or it was just spam.

The new "insight stats" showing me the most pupular day which is Monday and the most popular time is 9.00 pm (UTC).

This weeks most watched tags are boys (353), girls (317), film (245), TV (235), teen girls (255), farm 221, teen boys (202). Note that tags can be used within all wordpress blogs. Tags are probably much more used than categories. But they were imported that way from my old blog. The female page had about twice as much hits than the boys subpage this year but were about equal last year.

Quite good and typical family movie. But few scenes and very young boy who just turned 6.

So rating 3-4.

Update: I now have recorded and partly seen this movie but haven't checked all scenes. Obviously very few scenes (One brief scene at the beginning, some few others later I think mainly at the end). And the boy is very young.

So rating 3 was correct. Movie itself is also weak.

At the end the bibs are shown completetly but from a distance and with a helmet.
