Road to Avonlea – season 7

I haven't found complete episodes of this final season, just some few short official clips. At least in good quality.

Pics 1+3 again showing Kyle Labine, this time in light brown or similar bibs in s7e9. Color appears different in- and outside and Kyle looks different on each pic (haircut and cap). Backside simple straps till the butt.

Pic 2 is from s7e12 showing Robert Bednasrski in faded blue bibs. Bib at low position. He also appeared in s6e6.

I prefer blue bibs and Kyle in season 6.

Rating ~6-7 for now for season 7. Needs to be rechecked completetly.

And another update. More scenes than assumed and a quite good sitting scene (adding tag Sitting F). Bib at quite high position.

At the beginning in a different, short sleeved shirt but carrying something in front. Also 2 teen girls in orange coveralls (collecting trash).

He also appeared later (1992, 1994-1996) at least in bibs in season 6 (rating 7), see main entry. Also at least in in s6e6 and maybe in s7e1. Obviously rarely in bibs?

He's too young in this episode.

Conni - Das Schul-Musical!

–Comment: Different ladies in different bibs. I recently found an ad about a local musical. Pic 2 is I think from the recent 2019 (or 2017) version. Light blue bibs probably in both. Character might be a lady (Hausmeisterin Müller (in 2017 played by Judith Loeffen and probably others).) Pic 3 probably as well also showing another character (friend ?) in green plushy bibs and Conni in plushy coveralls and in a long, medium blue cartoonized cotton bibs-like dress.

Pic 1 is from a 2014 version, just called "Conni - Das Musical" (YouTube title Sparkassen-Arena-Kiel 20.12.2014" with Conni in dark blue jeans bibs.

Based on the kids' books, orginally illustrated by Eva Wenzel-Bürger. There are also 2 movies, starring Emma Schweiger, I have entries of both at

I can't say much more about the musicals, nor their names. In the recent books, Conni is 15 yo, previously a 1st grader like in the musicals. As usual played by grown-ups. Maybe there are also other versions, like school stage plays with younger kids.

More of interest for me is the 2014 version.

Update: Radio Flyer

And still another update. Completely checked at high speed. Several good scenes of Joseph Mazzello in both dark and hickory striped bibs (pic 2+4 at 48 minutes). Also sitting and fishing, good rear view at 16 minutes. Pic 1 kneeing at 22 minutes. Dark bibs mainly at the beginning (backside simple suspenders).

Not sure about pic 3 (at 26 minutes). Could be a 3rd pair and seems plain light blue. 1 short scene in those.

Update: Spanky (1932) Our Gang

As announced, 2 more kids in this movie, I previously missed.

Pic 1 and on left is 5 yo Tommy Bond. The other, even smaller, blonde kid is unknown and probably uncredited, also wearing dark bibs. Could be a girl. Hard to identify with the blackface. Tommy Bond also looks like a girl with that hair.

Briefly checked at high speed. Previously only 1 pic. Now 4 new pics, including wet scenes, sitting, lying on the floor and walking, full view.

Bibs are tight and the bib is sometimes at low position (at least in the wet scenes).

Of course a great movie, still needs to be checked more carefully at slow speed the next airing.

Update: Young People’s Specials: Umbrella Jack

Thanks once more db1! First, he provided 2 pics of Joey Lawrence (one year ago) and now he found it completely on archive.org.

Bibs appear darker at the end (pic 3) but probably is the same pair. I only have checked it briefly. Image quality is acceptable (VHS) for a rare movie. The previous pics were much darker, obvously from a different (shorter ?) source.

–Comment: Time for another "Dust Bowl" movie, I found on YouTube some time ago (searching for VR).

Titled "Rabbit Drives" but intro says Jackrabbit Drives. No entry on IMDb.

Image quality is quite poor but at least real moving footage scenes unlike most documentaries just showing photos. Brief clip 2 minutes. Chapter 8. Pic 2 is at the end and is continued on chapter 9 "Dust Storms", 1934. Maybe the complete movie is called "Kansas Emergency Relief Committee accomplishments movie". I haven't checked the other chapters. 2 quite good scenes as pictured.

Rating ~3-4.

Update: Touch the Sun: Devil's Hill

Another movie completely rechecked. Previously, a poor pic of one of the girls, now also showing both girls.

Several scenes outside. But rather few good scenes. From a distance and wearing jackets. Most scenes in the 2nd half.

On pic 1 they are kneeing at the shore of a lake. The older girl fixing one of the straps. Pic 2 is at the end also showing the boys (unfortunately never in bibs) and only the younger girl in bibs. Previously, I wasn't sure if the short haired girl might be a boy.

The 1960 b&w classic has recently been aired (but I don't know (notable) bibs scenes in there either). Court drama like To Kill a Mockingbird. So many scenes at court.

Previously, I found a stage play (boy rating 7). Howard is a young man in both movies, unknown if in bibs (13 yo in the play, also played by younger boys). There are 2 more movies, 1988 starring 13 yo Jason Marin ("Back to the Future") as Howard (not in bibs at least not at court), and in 1965 there's 15 yo Doug Chapin, but unknown if in bibs.

I almost missed the scene of the girl (Jamie Lynn Grenham ?), which is very brief at 1h13 wearing a jacket and a belt. Also at the beginning maybe a girl in white shortalls or similar and unpictured on the left a teen girl in blue bibs or could be just a jeans vest. Image quality is quite poor.

Nice, but typical Matt Lawrence movie.

1 reel, 10 minutes and at least other guest actors. Several supporting actors but none (notable) in bibs. Not that bad but there are better (earlier) movies.

Correct title: Sreča na vrvici, English title: Hang on, Doggy.

Rating ~2-3. Movie itself a bit higher. Several kids, some good scenes (jeans, speedos).

Update: My Family (1995)

Next to the young Mexican (looking) boy in the corn field at 1h55, there's also a young boy riding on a wooden horse in bibs at 10 minutes and even better 2 boys, including one chubby boy dancing in bibs at 36 minutes. But all scenes are short.

And another update. Some more and larger pics. These 3 new pics and 3 larger pics on the main entry. To better show the length of Mara Wilson's bibs. Rather long shortalls and bib at quite low position. Also more scenes of the lady. Nice handstand. Is this Embeth Davidtz with the curly hair? Also sitting in shortalls. The black girl at school is maybe Kiami Davael.

Good movie but Balloon Farm is much better. I prefer males.

And another movie completely rechecked. Next to Macaulay Culkin, now also a pic of the girl. Look like beige shortalls here, but is obviously rather a short dress. Both also cycling.

Culkin is too young (~8 yo but even younger looking) and rather few good scenes.
